I would also imagine that the new member Lydia Hislop is not the real Lydia Hislop.

hmmm….if its not the real one then the user is playing a dangerous game, just setting himself/herself up for defamation if anyone reasonably assumes that views expressed are of the individual impersonated.
I could be totally wrong, but generally it’s very rare that people give their full names as their user ID on forums.
…or indeed necessarily in business: in BD’s case for example, Grass, public filings indicate both names are real, but neither of them is the surname.

Good evening, everyone. I am using my real name and perhaps that’s the reason why my password took a while to be activated. (It happened within 24 hours. The rest of the disparity between my joining time and first post is down to work intervening and sheer laziness on my part.) I’m using my real name because I prefer straightforward communication. When I did the Q&A on here, I said I wasn’t a member of the forum because it would engulf too much of my not-very-frequent time off. To ward this off, I might well be on here sparingly. But I’ve always really liked this forum.
Don’t worry about JTS, Lydia……..he sees conspiracies everywhere.
Probably because he bets frequently at Hamilton.

Honestly Mike most of us use our real names………… it says on my stud papers that I am who I am.
