I’ll stick with The Wizard System after it served me well on the last two weekends, in a bid to fend off relegation….

Desperately trying to fend off relegation after resorting to the Wizard System with some success over the last two weekends.
Can’t imagine life in the nether regions of the TRF League !!

My appalling run of form so far necessitates a change in selection policy, and I’m now going the rely on The Wizard System highest rated selections, so here goes:
2:10 Lingfield – Bonus
2:25 Newmarket – Fajr
5:05 Hexham – Red Perk
8:30 Warwick – Angaric
3:55 Hexham – Magic Box
FSL – currently a decent price then if you’re that confident – GET ON!!
Hope you’re correct as he’s one of out Ten To Follow main selections. I’m a bit worried about Hard Top, given Sir Michael Stoute’s record of getting a good tune out of older horses.
1.55 Haydock – United
2.25 Haydock – Major’s Cast
2.35 Newmarket – Tax Free
3.15 Newmarket – Sir Percy
3.50 Newmarket – Spanish Ace

A topic close to my heart this one, as (no jest) I have managed to pick the Golden Boot at both of the last two World Cups (Davor Suker £20 @ 33/1) and Ronaldo (£40 @ 16/1) and also managed to get Milan Baros (£10 @ 66/1) in the European Championships.
My strategy in the past has been to base my selections on players that have the best international strike rates, calculated as goals scored divided by number of games played. This has served me well.
Having said that (shameless trumpet-blowing) my luck is bound to come to an end this time round.
My selections this time are:
Adriano (Brazil) 16/1 – class act in the class act team
Lukas Podolski (Germany) – home team invariably goes a long way, and at 42/1 worth a small punt
Luca Toni (Italy) – will hopefully be their number one striker, has been burning up Serie A, and scoring well for Italy in friendlies
Milan (me old mate) Baros @ 50/1 – part sentimental, but I think he’s a completely different animal playing for his national side, and hopefully the Czech’s may be a little underrated this year
3.20 Sandown – You’re Special
2.10 Sandown – Herakles
2.40 Sandown – Nyrche
4.25 Sandown – The Last Drop
4.55 Sandown – Hail The Chief

5.30 Sandown – Firesong
3.55 Sandown – Rob Roy
1.50 Ayr – Shamayoun
2.20 Ayr – Monet’s Garden
2.50 Ayr – United
3.30 Ayr – Halcon Genelardais
4.35 Ayr – Jacks Craic

5.35 Ayr – Jean Le Poisson
4.05 Ayr – The Luder
The race at least proves that Visindar has trained on from two to three, something that has to be taken on trust with other horses at the head of the ante-post markets e.g. George Washington & Horatio Nelson.
Like to trust what I see with my own eyes, and haven’t seen the race yet, so can’t really say much more than that.

Missed last week, but here goes playing catch-up….

EC – with the benefit of hindsight, your assessment of Beef Or Salmon’s chances was a good one.
Saturday is NAP day for me, and if Sky’s The Limit can win the Aintree Hurdle, then the credit card companies needn’t worry for another month!
My two colleagues both backed Golden Cross, and whilst they did briefly hold some hope that the stewards inquiry bell would ring, neither had any complaint about the final result. On seeing the replay, I can understand why an inquiry might have been called, but could not see it changing the places, as I didn’t think the interference affected the outcome of the race.
Decent profit over the 4 days.
Winning days on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Struggled to even get a shout over the next two days, drawing a complete blank on Thursday and with only a decent bet on Desert Quest resulting in a small profit on Friday (and another winning end to the festival).
All my winners came in handicaps:
Dun Doire – finished with a tremendous rattle after being out with the washing
Native Jack
Sky’s The Limit
Desert Quest
High point – Sky’s The Limit bounding clear up the hill
Near miss – had a decent win double on Sky’s The Limit and Mon Mome (finished 2nd)
One that got away – Hot Weld made a shortlist of 3 but didn’t carry my money to victory.
Changed my mind – was going to back Studmaster in the finale, but having seen Greenhope win, I noticed he’d been beaten by Desert Quest in his prep race, so switched to Desert Quest as a result. Good decision!

Going for all 4 days again! Seats up in the Grandstand for a fantastic view of the amphitheatre.
Staying in a house in Bishops Cleeve so about 25 mins walk into the course each day. After racing, meal, beers and form study with my 2 friends in one of the pubs in Bishops Cleeve.
Travelling down by car later today, with a night out in the town planned for tonight, culminating with beers at the Queens Hotel. Have stocked up on the Berocca, as I think the energy levels will need some artificial stimulation during the week ahead!
Good luck with your wagers!
Metropolis – Scenes from a Memory by Dream Theater or The Human Equation by Ayreon would do for me
