Why are other power owners so suspicious of Pond House? Surely it can’t be fall-out from that awful, cheap Cook Report doc all those years ago. (which I saw)

I wonder if Timmy will continue as retained jockey, If DJ is gonna be down to 25 horses it would seem extravagant. Anyway he will find an opening somewhere, too good not to.

A Pat Buchanan, Bob Barr libertarian more than neo-con but the Obama rant was worthy of notorious foaming at the mouth hate monger Michael Savage.

There is going Off-Topic and there is going Off-Topic, those last two submissions deserve a PhD in going Off-Topic.

A strong suspicion remains that all the venom towards Claire on this teeth business is just a pretext to take down a peg someone who is gay. bit of class hatred as well maybe seeping in. If John Francome had been in Claire’s shoes I doubt there would have been more than a murmur.

A big fuss over something very minor, Claire is an excellent broadcaster and has a wonderful common touch and people skills.

References to Claire’s sexuality bleeding into all this were 1.01 on Betfair.

I can’t lip-read but Andrew Thornton was absolutely spitting venom at the starter, would he still get his riding fee?

If DJ is downsizing his operation then I fear for Pond House as he was the only power owner they had left. Martin got out at the right time it would have been awful to see him slipping down the ranks behind inferior trainers.

On his way back in from the Denman ride Sam could clearly be seen signing his name for two autograph hunters, under the circumstances that showed a whole lotta class, most other jocks in the same boat would have walked on and ignored them and some of them would have told the autograph hunters to F*** Off.

Ah yes this particular story brings to mind an article that ran in the old Sporting Life about the discovery of live and well Shergar with quotes from the Choirboy on his impending return to the racetrack.

That Imaam was a very fat price for what he was up against, 1.15 to be placed.

Is Martin Dwyer still backing up R Hills I have noticed recently a multitude of jockeys riding for Hamdan recently, like brother Michael at the weekend.

Terry Norman rates Hillsy and more importantly so does Hamdan.

To my untrained eye Richard does not appear as forceful as say Jimmy Fortune or Kieron Fallon in a driving finish but maybe some horses prefer that.
That ride on Maroof was spectacular of course in the QE2 and didn’t he nearly steal a Derby before I go into the sport in the early 80’s on some other longshot with a Maroof like ride, before my time so I maybe wrong.

Isn’t foaling date very important in these early 2 year old races, then anything trained by Barry Hils will be usually be too skinny and a win lay.

Didn’t David Johnson have Ferdy Murphy training for him at some point?

Nothing to do with his skills as a jockey, but I have to say that, when being interviewed Tom comes across as a great ambassador for the sport being pleasant, eloquent and enthusiastic.

Yes isn’t he refreshing actually seems as if he enjoys giving interviews, most of the others have abysmal communication skills.

Inheriting a stable doesn’t really have a good record does it in this country anyway? tell me where I’m wrong with this lot.

Jimmy Fitzgerald to Tim, Mary Revely to son, Jack Berry to Alan, Josh Gifford to Nick, Jenny Pitman to Mark, Reg Akehurst to John, Gordon Richards to Nicky, Paul Kelleway to Gaye, Guy Harwood to Amanda, Ken Ivory to Dean.

Tim Easterby has won 2 group 1’s on the flat and Peter Easterby never won a group race on the flat so he is an exception and David Pipe will never match the acheivements of his father but will be a top classer, Donald McCain looks to be another top classer

All those jump snobs will tell us that the turf flat until the Craven meeting has no value at all but I am always excited at the turf commencement, folkestone on a sodden tuesday in early april still has more appeal than say the Scottish Grand National meeting.

That was a very poor Derby Hala Bek ran in, seen stronger Group 3’s, Dylan Thomas wasn’t yet the horse he became.

I always thought Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum was the younger brother of Sheikh Mohammed.
