    1. you only need to cook food that proves a health risk from the bacteria it carries…eating raw chook could pose you a lot of problems….but beef don’t have nothing in it that’ll hurt you…and if are in a decent resaurant, you shouldn’t have to worry about contamination…and it does taste beeter less well done…it’s like asking for burnt toast….no one in their right mind done that!!

    2. So you’d rather eat a bucket load of pig swill than a nice bit of something so lovely it makes your toes curl????

    3. don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!! I’ve tried it, and can therefore knock it, it’s the most horrid thing I’ve ever had in my mouth….and I’ve had a lot of bad things in my mouth ;o)

    4. Each to their own mate….how anyone drinks any cheap white wine i’ll never know….amy as well go to your local chippy and ask for a bottle of their best vinegar!!

    5. Real food….you mean these expensive places serve plastic stuff

it’s all good while the auditions are on, after that, those who watch it, and vote, and care, should be damned to hell…well, that might be a little harsh…but they certainly should have their right to vote (in an election, not some fixed song contest) taken away!!

i’m reading Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman by japanese writer Haruki Murakami. It’s a collection of short stories so maybe more accessible than his novels which are great if slightly (or very) bizarre.

have you read it yet?! I read Kafka on the Shore and loved it, got this for my birthday and have read the first two stories…and i’mreally hoping that i was tired when i was reading them…as i have to admit i got to the end of both of them and did not have a clue what they were about!! I’d be interested to hear how you found them…

i see your point where luck is concerned….rather difficult to determine and probably the quickest way to reactivate the arguement we were trying to get away from!

Still, in my wandering I did find this quite interesting article which seems to back up the Utd theroy quite well!!!!

    euro…thanks for the explaination…

in terms of other abilities…he was certainly one of the fittest men to play the game and used to run many miles more than anyone on the pitch. That kind of work rate and ground coverage has to be better than having a static player. Despite what you say about him being known for his free kicks and passing….i don’t think i’ve ever seen someone able to pass the ball over such distances with such accuracy…and i don’t think that it should be a bad thing that he is known for this ability. Plus, i don’t think one of the best clubs in the world would beg him to stay if they really didn’t think he was that talented!

Still, i think i have to agree that either this man has the biggest ego in the world and believes he can tame america…or it is all about money…and that’s the shame.

the whole climate change thingy hasn’t really run it’s course yet…still trying to get to the bottom of it…but ocean temperature is rising and that seems to have affected the stream….

    from the met office…
not that it make encoraging reading…sounds more like they are preparibng us to be unhappy for a while!!

METEOROLOGISTS have blamed Britain’s wet summer on the unusual position of the jet stream, a belt of fast-moving air 36,000ft above the earth that controls the movements of bad-weather systems.

During most summers the jet stream lies across the north Atlantic, effectively penning bad weather there and in the Greenland Sea so that only Iceland and Scandinavia are affected by them.

This allows anti-cyclones, the high-pressure weather systems associated with warm, sunny summer weather, to move up from Europe to cover Britain.

This year, however, the jet stream has moved several hundred miles to the south. This has allowed depressions, the low-pressure weather systems that bring storms and heavy rain, to batter Britain.

The situation has been made worse by the hot and sunny weather systems lying over much of central and south eastern Europe. These interact with depressions to generate the storms and cloudbursts behind the recent floods.

Why, though, has the jet stream shifted southwards? Scientists are not sure of all the reasons but believe there is a link to a natural phenomenon known as La Niña.

This occurs when cool water surges up from the bottom of the Pacific off Peru. The water cools the air above it, setting off a series of changes in the Earth’s atmospheric circulation.

Other factors appear to be at work too. One of them could be the warming of the Atlantic. Matt Huddleston, principal climate change consultant at the Met Office, said such conditions were one of the effects of climate change.

hehe, it does seem that he has forgotten that he’s playing for a team that he would hang his head in shame to be involved with in any other country!! I think you are right, he’s going to have his work cut out to do more than make them tread water…and if you have games watched by as little as 7000 then the glamour is going to tarnish quickly. I have to say i agree with the sentiment that this was little to do with football and all about coming to america with "brand beckham"…shame really as he is an incerdible talent…

are they doing this to bring it into line with the rules for bikes? If so….have they not considered the fact the bikes are inanimate objects driven and controlled solely by the rider….this is certainly not the case with a horse and i agree….could just end up with carnage!! I agree totally!!

Although…at least tey aren’t asking you to do this as well!
