Fascinating horse to watch, Might Bite. You wouldn’t want to take him on the way he tanks along in front but give him enough rope and he’ll power away.

5.30 Two Taffs, res: All Hell Let LooseA sea of blue for Two Taffs on oddschecker. Pricewise has no doubt tipped it, giving bookmakers an excuse to immediately knock 6 points off the price. Kind of defeats the purpose of a value tipster when his recommended odds get butchered 12 hours before anyone gets a chance to read his thoughts.
The 888 offer of 16/1 on the Altior/Douvan double states that the winning return is credited to your account within 72 hours. I’d be looking for an immediate transfer in order to have the benefit of the free winning bets for the remainder of the week but not so it seems.
I’m happy to make my transfers now with today’s news that Faugheen joins Robin Roe on the injury list

Thistlecrack now odds on and rightly so with the competition looking thin on the ground. If Cue Card, Djakadam and Valseur Lido all go for the Ryanair as suggested by connections, it really only leaves Native River, Outlander, Don Poli and Many Clouds. The later two, more so as a prep for Aintree.
January 10, 2017 at 13:03 in reply to: Kempton to be sold off by Jockey Club for housing development #1281225There is no way they can spin this as anything other than a blow to jumps racing. It will be the King George in name only. Not the same race.
I was always confident of backing Valseur Lido when Ruby rode him, drops him out with a quiet ride before coming through smoothly to win (Jwine chase, Growise novice chase and the Irish Gold cup but for a fall at the second last when going extremely well). Will be interesting to see how the horse gets on without him.
Ruby also said they felt Djakadam was the better horse when they were both with Mullins. I still get the feeling though this horse has still to show just how good he is over the staying trip whereas Djakadam has a had a few cracks at it the big championship races and usually finds one too good.
Should be a fascinating contest with the rest of the quality in the field and I might just enjoy it without a bet.
I don’t like that Betbright Chase as a trial, Bobby and would rather he missed it. Smad Place left his GC chance there last season and Many Clouds did the same the season before, both in desperate ground. Best avoided.
Probably thinking along the lines of last year when he took the cleeve hurdle on the same card. Similar break between races for another tilt at the festival. Cheltenham was also his least assured round of jumping in 4 chase starts to date so I can see where Tizzard is coming from with the “more experience” comment.
Tough race to crack as most of these big prize 2 mile handicap hurdles are. I only usually have a strong opinion if I think there’s a smart one amongst them (My Tent routing the Betfair hurdle a memorable example).
Who Dares Wins could have a bit more improvement to come, having looked in great order last time. I’m also drawn to the Skelton horse, not so much from a form perspective but the trainer seems to know how to place one, winning the last running of the Greatwood and County hurdles at Cheltenham as well as this race 2 years back.
The horse was something special and a sight to behold at the last 3 festivals. The turn of pace he showed in the Ryanair to effortlessly pull clear of the field was stunning, I literally gasped.
Such a huge loss to racing.
Gone for the race fit Present Man off a nice low weight. Southfield Theatre on his old form would be the clear pick, form round here also but wasn’t at it last year so wouldn’t want to chance at those odds.
Valseur Lido is the bet for me with Ruby on his back. Rode him twice before, both grade ones, the first in a novice chase win at the Punchestown 2015 festival and then in the Irish Hennessey when falling at the last when looking like he was coming through to score smoothly.
Some solid runs in second behind Vautour and Djakadam last year also over trips short of his best in the John Durkan and Ryanair.
You’d think the next race she’ll be entered for a step up in trip will be the hatton’s grace where you’d expect Faugheen or Annie Power to be starting off. Unless they want to keep her in lower grade till later in the season.
Dissapointed to not see More of That get a run out today on account of the going which was described as “beautiful ground, on the soft side of good”
I’m not sure what they were hoping for

Yeah, I think it makes sense Sheriff, if Kilulltagh comes back, you can always swap him in. I’m a big Rocco fan, so I like your replacement.

Yeah so long as the jumping errors that blighted the first half of last year’s campaign are over with there’s a big prize in the horse one hopes. Cheers
