Darren just note for your Portugal picks regarding course form, its been same course for last 10 years or so in Villamura its just changed names a few times
thanks – Bjeergaard is my fancy so I was just checking up on your comments regarding him, as I was sure it was same course last few years as one my friends always mentions it each year its on that he had played the course
odds on Stradivarius with the Frankie doubles / trebles and four fold running from his first 3 winners
Dee Ex Bee to outstay them all for mwe
I’d be concerned if I was sitting on nice prices for TDH for Guineas, asides from the families frailties (tho obviously exceptionally talented) the one thing always sticks with me and has since Kingman lost his Guineas is Gosden has never had a 2000 Guineas winner.
Now in no way is that anything to do with his ability as a trainer, I think he is exceptional, but these trainers, their creatures of habits, his methodology / regime obviously just isn’t based around getting a 3 year old to be peaking first weekend in May – he manged to get Kingman beat by Night of Thunder in a Guinease, tells me the horse just wasn’t 100% fully tuned / forward on that day
one of Obriens for me for the win
Kauto or Denman never ran in this race – presume you are thinking about the Bowl
Personnally think she will hack up and 13/8 7/4 is a great price
High
2003 Champions Hurdle, ,having backed Rooster booster all winter to win it since seeing a different horse in his comeback beating Mr Cool pulling a proverbial cart. Won a very, very nice amount on him that day, coming in handy for someone not having long left university. Don’t think any horse, anywhere was going to beat him that day,, to take a pull like he was running to 2nd last in a champion hurdle been ran at flat out pace by Intersky Falcon, was a sight to behold
How Far the Booster was the cry in local from me and by sidekick, as he shot on from the last – happy memories
Similar this year with Paisley Park,, had him at 12s (my mate was on at 40s after Haydock handicap it won ) just before Cheltenham trial’s day not for a huge amount , but a nice amount none the less, to have the confidence to say to everyone in the pub watching the race as he is getting a niggle after the 2nd last, that just wait till he straightens up for the last and the boosters get switched to turbo,, whoosh, ive been watching racing for over 20 years, and ive never seen a stayer hurdle be able to finish like this one, hopefully he will win a few more to come avoiding any training / injuries issues
Lows
Cue Card fall in his gold cup when going for the million bonus,, was in near tears, probably my favourite horse of all time and was devastated for the horse and connection (and my pocket secondary). was an absolute cert to win had it stood up., but hey ho jumping name of the game
Bit further back but one of my earlier cheltenhams, maybe 1999 /2000, as a poor student I had convinced myself there was 3 absolute stick on certainties that year. Istabraq in Champion, Barton in Royal and Sun Alliance Hurdle and Nick Dundee RSA. Again not a lot of money looking back, but for a student at the time,, this treble was going to pay for an awful lot of cheap student nights out.. Sadly Nick Dundee fell 2nd last when looking likely to go past Looks like Trouble, and the ability of Nick Dundee was never to be know with injuries thereafter

alas not to be last night,, a mixture of poor defending,, some poor refereeing that you come to expect vs either of old firm,, and poor decision making from Scott McKenna cost us… overall don’t think Aberdeen deserved to lose on balance of play.
Was entertaining game as per usual between the tow teams,, never much love lost when they meet
Stand Free
Not one to normally put up football tips (or any for that matter) – infact I think last time was for Aberdeen v Rangers when we were 2/1 at home to them and won 2/1 with James MAddison last minute winner,, anyway
i’d say there is a bit of a mess up in the pricing of Aberdeen v Rangers tonight,, Aberdeen are 3/1 at home in a match between 2 evenly matched sides
For those don’t follow Scottish football much ,they haven’t beat us this season in 3 games,, we’ve beaten them at their place and in cup semi final (all by 1 goal)
By no means a good thing,, but definitely priced up wrongly,, I;ve pushed a few chips in at that 3/1, fill yir boots (about EVS -1, probably get 6/4 draw no bet maybe)

the weights for National be released long before the Gold Cup Potato, so whatever rating EE is just now less no doubt a few pound of encouragement from handicapper to get the “classier” ones into the National will be his rating come April..
Personally ill be amazed if he doesn’t go National this year,, and win or go close
A year is a long time in a chasers career and anything (touch wood) can happened to them
