Value Is EverythingApril 17, 2019 at 14:04 #1417925“Good thing” means different things to different people, Potato. What’s yours?
TDH was never odds-on and the price took in to account being a 3 year old.TDH only needed to train on to win an average 2000 Guineas. Yes, there was a chance he wouldn’t train on, but (looking at the way the family usually develop and progression TDH showed at two) a far bigger chance of improving on his two year old form. Unfortunately, the family are also a little fragile and currently out to over 4/1 on betfair…
Chances of winning or even running now don’t look good.
Value Is EverythingApril 17, 2019 at 14:12 #1417926…Since I wrote the above gone out to 6/1 (9/1 if wanting to Lay TDH).
Value Is EverythingApril 17, 2019 at 15:44 #1417932I hope Too Darn Hot makes it
even his two year old form would beat anything that has come out of these trials
he’d have to regress to birth to lose to anything we have seen so far
His pedigree would suggest that won’t happenWatan is a beautiful looking horse btw
like his dad..

April 17, 2019 at 15:45 #1417933Hard to take anything from the craven
They finished in a heap and soumillon gave royal marine a dreadful ride
April 17, 2019 at 15:49 #1417934I did what I did yesterday. Qabala was backed on the day in the Nell Gwynn so went in at 40s for the 1000 guineas. Today Skardu was backed for Craven so I went in at 25s for the 2000.
April 17, 2019 at 15:50 #1417935Calyx and still hope
Gosden allows him to run hereGosden has said he won’t be running from quotes I have read
looking at the Pavilion early May at Ascot as a start
witg Commonwealth Cup or St James Palace stakes depending how things go and chat with ownerGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 17, 2019 at 15:59 #1417936If (more like when) TDH is scratched from this it is looking wide open. Skardu is now 6s in places. Very good run there, but 6s is 6s and that’s mental. Clearly the bookies can’t work the race out either.
Zakouski was poor. Looks a bit mental.
Persian King, surely they go now?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 17, 2019 at 16:01 #1417937Persian King now second favourite on the machine.
Value Is EverythingApril 17, 2019 at 16:01 #1417938Watched the lagaedere and royal marines run when beating turgenev again and he front ran or was right up with the pace
Yet soumillon decided to hold him up midfield which the horse clearly didn’t enjoy
Not a horse to give up on and with more positive tactics think hed be a far better horse
April 17, 2019 at 16:04 #1417939I’m not sure that French race was very good FF91
Think Royal Marine maybe overrated but do agree off the slow pace the jockey could have given him his head and let him goGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 17, 2019 at 16:20 #1417941Ginger, I’ve already extensively explained what I meant with hype, but you try to ignore this and wipe it away,
so from me: ‘Nuff said
Jack, with “fair to Calyx” I mean that Gosden should really examine if Calyx is or can become a miler,
instead of pushing him away into the sprint department.Nathan, I know as I’ve also read this, and of course I must be prepared that Calyx will be withdrawn from here.
Then your early plan to play him in the Commonwealth would create a good chance for you, but at least JG also talked about routing him to the St James Stakes. He intends to discuss this with good old Abdullah, so there is still the chance to see him over 8f.April 17, 2019 at 16:26 #1417943Even if TDH made the field you couldn’t have him winning. The horse I’m guessing hadn’t work for a week or so? And the fact that they going for a trial tells he wasn’t where they wanted him to be?
April 17, 2019 at 16:45 #1417945He beat broome who bolted up in the ballysax so hard to knock the form
April 17, 2019 at 16:58 #1417948I’m not that keen on Broome either tbh
the ballysax was 10f on soft and not sure the opposition was up too muchGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 17, 2019 at 17:23 #1417954Fabre & Godolphin have to let Persian King go here now. Best chance of 1000G success for them in some time.
The one for me that is overpriced is Madhmoon at 20s.
Only just beaten staying on well on soft ground over 7F by a fit horse, the overreaction to this beast is high.
He beat Broome last season basically on the bridle over the Guineas trip and looked the next big thing, a prep is a prep i’m sure Prendergast would’ve left a bit to work on with him and quick ground will suit better aswell.April 17, 2019 at 18:56 #1417960He’s defo overpriced Kev. Any idea if he goes here or will they wait for Ireland? Given they have Jash + Mohaather?
