I think yesterday’s was just a very unfortunate accident, to blame it on blindfolds or stalls is knee jerking and wrong, plenty of horses use blindfolds and don’t run into the stalls, ban fences because a horse falls and fatally injured himself when plenty of horses jumped the fence without injury. Its a bit like the water jump debate, for every bad accident, hundreds of horses get over them without any problems.

But the difference with the jumps is the horse has got a chance, if it doesn’t want to jump it will refuse, Fayr Jag had no chance I watched the incident live and the horse was in an agitated state it had been turned so had lost its bearings, and then a blindfold was placed on, it broke free from the stall staff and ran straight into the stalls, I’m sorry but imo the blindfold was to blame it gave the horse no chance.

I think after today’s incident with Fayr Jag the use of blindfolds really have to be looked at, the way the horse ran into the stalls was heartbreaking, believe me I’m not soft when it comes to racing but that was beyond the pale :(

I think he was with John Gosden and then Godolphin before going it alone.

Great post Prince Chicaf, I’ve had a couple of quid on Fajr E/W, mainly on the fact that every time I’ve seen Gay Kelleway interviewed over the winter she’s said that this was the target, I’ve also had a small bet on Mine(an old favorite of mine), think he’s way overpriced and a ten year old has got to win it some time

Re : Curley’s infamous racecourse rant/interview with McCririck and Harvey.

Mr.Curley was particularly hard on Luke Harvey, I thought.
    Without justification, I felt.

I agree with you, but thought Harvey took it well and carried on doing his job, you also see him laughing about it afterwards, gone up in my estimation(for what ever that’s worth)

What is "interesting" about how much someone else wins or loses – especially when the amounts being bandied about cannot be corroborated in any way?

I would expand, but I’ve got Charlize Theron in here with me tonight, and she’s begging for it.

Grasshopper whats it like when she runs her finger’s through your hair :D

i always thought the red button was for their ‘partners’ or betting partners who are why as far as i can gather why we’ve not had to pay for atr, along with the adverts

Yes but surely it’s in there betting partners interest for people to be able to watch the race with commentary, how much time would it take up over a week? I doubt it would be more then a couple of hours, but then you are right about getting the channel for free so I suppose we can’t complain to much.

What I can’t work out with ATR is that they have the red button, why can’t they have one race on the main channel and the other one behind the red button, they could have commentary on both just like they do on Sky news, in this day and age it can’t be that hard to do :?

Just read on the teletext that the takeover bid has failed and that they can’t try again for at least a year

I’d like to think that Cornus could be a good E/W bet in the 3.35 Lingfield at a big price
