[Authorized’s owners sever
links with Nosedaby Racing Post staff
SALEH AL HOMAIZI and Imad Al Sagar have severed links with Jeremy Noseda with immediate effect with four horses leaving Shalfeet Stables on the Bury Road at the end of last week.
The owners of last year’s Derby winner Authorized have sent four horses to stay with Peter Chapple-Hyam at St Gatien Stables whilst a decision on their future is made.
Wonder what that is all about? I’d say by the immediacy of it there would appear to have been a falling out. I quite like noseda aswell.
April 7, 2008 at 20:11 #156743I know no details, but, imo, the trainer is good, but the horse is knackered.
I’m judging by the performance in the Arc.
Doesn’t Godolphin own the thing anyway?
April 7, 2008 at 20:21 #156752Yeah pretty sure Authorized went off to stud for godolphin at the end of last season, they bought him after the derby, but agreed with the owners that they could keep him running in their colours till the end of the season.
It must be over something else like one of their other runners.
Surprising that they are sending them all to chapple-hyam, they usually have some nice sorts (on breeding) with noseda, saying that, chapple-hyam has picked them up group wins with Authorized, Tariq and Hamoody so maybe thats a reason but then surely they wouldnt be pulling them out so quickly…
April 7, 2008 at 21:09 #156764Darley folks – not Godolphin. Two distinct differences.
April 7, 2008 at 21:30 #156775" Darley folks – not Godolphin. Two distinct differences"
-which are…?
April 7, 2008 at 22:21 #156784Darley are a breeding and racing operatioin which seems too be owned by Sheik Mohamed, its umbrella seems too also cover his sons, his wife ( Princess Hya of Jordan) and one of his brothers.
Godolphin is a purely racing has Sheik Mohammed at its head but also the remaining Maktoms brothers and some of their assocaites, its meant too be the elite of the maktoums stables…
April 7, 2008 at 23:39 #156796I could be missing something entirely, but what has Authorised got to do with Noseda’s ties with Al Homaizi being severed?
As regard the debated difference between Darley and Godolphin; the former is Sheikh Mohammed’s global breeding operation, built by buying up studs in four countries over the last 25 years, and the latter is a racing entity, as godolphin.com puts it, charged with ruining the best juveniles who have been carefully brought along by the country’s best trainers. Darley also handles the running of Hamdan Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohammed’s own horses (before shipping them off to Godolphin).
April 8, 2008 at 08:04 #156819Thanks, yp and lgr.
Re Authorised; I wouldn’t think he’s the reason for any split, but I have no idea what’s happened.
April 8, 2008 at 08:56 #156824I would also doubt it seeing as Authorized was not trained by Jeremy Noseda.
April 8, 2008 at 11:42 #156851One of the other main differences between Darley and Godolphin is that the Darley breeding operation is a commercial enterprise, open to members of the public; where as Godolphin is purely private. Anyone can send their mare to a Darley stallion, but I don’t fancy your chances of getting a horse into training with Saeed bin Suroor…..

Freudian slip or no???
April 8, 2008 at 12:35 #156871No Freudian Slip. A topic that can be argued to great lengths.
April 8, 2008 at 12:38 #156872LGR – the ties between Al Homaizi, Jeremy Noseda and Authorized are unknown. I think it’s simply the journalist enlightening the reader on who is Al Homaizi.
The pairing did bring Araafa to the grand stage. Exciting horse that one.
April 8, 2008 at 13:19 #156882I understand why Authorised was mentioned in the article, but don’t understand Sean Rua’s comment of ‘…good trainer, but the horse is knackered…’ as they’re completely unrelated.
April 8, 2008 at 16:04 #156910Just offering my opinion on, what to me are two unrelated subjects that I saw together in the thread, lgr.

Nothing sinister or contentious.
I saw Authorised win the derby when trained by PCH. I saw him come near last in the Arc. Any link with J Noseda was unknown to me, but I just assumed the poster knew something I didn’t.
April 8, 2008 at 16:44 #156918I didn’t suggest there was, Sean, it just confused me!
April 8, 2008 at 16:52 #156919There ain’t a link unless they think either noseda is not good enough or Chappel-Hyam is just a lot better..
Neither of which I would say are true.. They are both very good trainers in my opinion.
Who was it that Noseda worked for before going it alone? I can’t remember off the top of my head..
