One of the things I love about racing is seeing a terrific 2 Y O licking all comers in spectacular style. Whatever becomes of Canford Cliffs, I’m just savour the moment and dream about this horse.
I think the form of this Coventry is already working out well. The second horse Xtension had previously murdered Jehu by 4 lengths on his debut. Yesterday, Jehu won a 7 furlong maiden over at Thirsk.
I’ve always liked Brough Scott and he really deserves his award. Top bloke!
Well remembered; Horage also went on to win the St James’ Palace Stakes as a 3yo.
I was a teenager then. I’d backed him and his SP was 18-1 I think. He slipped the field some way from home and stole something like a 3 length lead. The hot favourite Tolomeo came with a good rattle but failed by a head to catch him.
Nice horse Horage

IMO something wrong with owners and trainers who’ve already run a good and speedy 2yo 3 times by mid-May.
I don’t see anything wrong at all. A few years back, I remember a very fast 2 Y O called Horage who won something like 9 races in a row … the good ol’ days

If I was Jar Jar Binks I would sue!!!
LMAO

Meehan has more excuses that Billy Bunter has when caught red handed nicking cakes. Crowded House ran past the beaten horses and he took forever to do that. Even if he needed the race he should have been much closer at the 2f marker than he got. He must have been all of 10 lengths behind and it wasn’t until after the 2f marker he made up a little bit of ground that was exagerated by those going backwards.
I think he’d be a mile out of his class against his elders and if he makes up 6 lengths and beats Rip Van Winkle in the Eclipse I’ll eat Billy Bunter left ass cheek
What could make things worse is if the ground in Ireland is heavy Sea the Stars could go for the race.Three furlongs out, CH was about 6 lengths adrift of STS. At the finishing line, he was just 8 and a quarter lengths behind STS. So STS took, roughly, a mediocre 2 and a quarter lengths off CH during the last three furlongs.
You’re showing the same kind of negativity about CH as you did last year with Raven’s Pass. Just watch Crowded House come the Eclipse

Willie Carson has a voice like a bee stuck in a trumpet.
Crowded House
: Flattered momenterily in the Derby. Many think this could be his trip which it probably is but he needs a drop in class more.
I don’t think CH needs a drop in class at all. He clearly has the ability and class but there are excuses for his defeats this season. Personally, I feel that he didn’t stay the Derby distance, never quite handled the track but needed the run to put him straight again.
Oh and J Spencer rode him as though he was taught at the GSSR … the Greville Starkey School of Riding
The Eclipse should be ideal for CH.
Just a shame there not scattered among trainers with almost half the field belonging to Ballydoyle.
That cheeses me off. I’ve always thought that there should be a limit to how many runners a trainer can have in a race
… but this is just my honest opinion
Actions speak a lot louder than words and one horse will do the talking where it matters – on the racecourse on Saturday.
Very true. This Derby, in particular, has intrigued me because there are so many good horses in it. Looks like one of the better Derbys in recent years.
I’ve backed Crowded House again after the confirmation that he runs. I can’t get his run at Doncaster out of my mind, absolutely smoking past the entire field. I know that the form has not entirely worked out, but I think at the prices, he offers a bit of value.
I was at York for the Dante, and that was too bad to be true, and i’m glad he scoped badly afterwards.
Well, after the Dante, Jamie Spencer said about Crowded House along the lines of "Ignore him at your peril".
I for one am keeping faith with CH and I think he’ll run a storming race on Saturday.I haven’t lost faith in Crowded House. Something was clearly amiss with him in the Dante and I think it is too early to write him off.
Canford Cliffs! Loved the way how he quickly put daylight between himself and his rivals. It was like a magic act.
According to this http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2009/05/18/britain-s-got-talent-exclusive-irish-dancer-neil-horan-is-defrocked-priest-jailed-for-grand-prix-stunt-115875-21367747/, that crappy irish dancer says he’ll sabotage the Epsom Derby next month.
If I caught the little blighter, I’d wring his scrawny chicken neck!
Should Crowded House fail, then I think Glass Harmonium could spring a surprise.
Crowded House to win easing down by, at least, 3 lengths
