Res – ShoutWonder if the complexion of the Ayr meeting will change if Mullins identifies that he can’t catch Skelton, so sends over fewer runners and therefore leaving some of the lesser races for the locals to compete in again.
“Meghan going for the chav look tonight”
“Adele should go on Celebrity Bake Off since her eyeliner looks like it’s been piped on.”
“Adele wears far too much make up and I would love to take some scissors to that hair.”
I did think this was a place of intelligent discussion and debate where we were better than commenting on young women’s appearance, but clearly we’re not.

Res – Edith PelhamI’m sure Jonjo wasn’t too disappointed that Wellington Arch got balloted out of the Coral (MGM) Cup on Wednesday.
Instead he went for a Cl3 at Uttoxeter on Saturday, won convincingly to collect nearly £8k. Which is more than he’d have got for coming fourth in that hugely-more-competitive Cheltenham race.
Similar with Derham’s Teddy Blue, who won a seven-runner Cl2 20F handicap chase (winner £31k) at Kempton on Saturday, rather than go to the Plate on Tuesday, for which he’d have won the same £31k for finishing second to handicap blot Madara.
And I suspect that the Kempton race took a lot less out of Teddy Blue than it would have taken on Tuesday amongst the Festival hubbub.
OK, there’s not the glory of being at Cheltenham, but if you want to find the owner prize money with handicappers, then avoiding the oversubscribed and super-competitive Festival races is obvious.

After seeing Wilful win the County (and what a good result for that race it was, not being one of the usual suspects), and Alexei’s good show in the Champion Hurdle, the form of that Ascot handicap just before Christmas looks hot.
(Race result at https://www.racingpost.com/results/2/ascot/2025-12-20/907815).
Hot Fuss split those two that day and then beat Wilful at Windsor next, and hasn’t been punished too much by the weights. I’m going in.

You all fall for it again don’t you?
Gemma Collins isn’t on the show for 60 year old has-beens like us lot in here. She’s on the show for the many young women who quite like her. Collins reminds her of themselves and their friends.
And there she is telling everyone that betting can be understood even by someone like her, and even she can win at the races and have a great time. And there you are, past-it and moaning that the sport is dying.
Either you want younger people to get into the sport, or you don’t. make your minds up. if you want young people to enjoy racing, then you have to accept that not every minute of a four-hour show on racing is going to be aimed at you, an old man, and that some part of the show will be aimed at a younger audience.
Newsflash: Thirty-year-old women (and their boyfriends) are not going to get into the sport by wanting more of John Francome moaning about the starts and that the game isn’t as good as it was when they were in it. They are going to get into it seeing that Collins is showing them that it is a great day out.
Who cares whether she can tip. That’s not her job.

Really torn on which horse to save the Wellington for. Very worthy addition to the competition, that.Indeed. I thought that Martator hadn’t quite got there. Must admit, welled up on listening to their (Deutsch and then Venetia) interviews. What a sport!
When don’t they make the race 30 yards shorter and start further away from that bend?
0/16 for Elliott, only one placed and plenty with duck eggs.
