Sorry, you’re right, Nathan, these double-barrelled female trainers are everywhere!
Impressed by the once raced Epsom trial winner, Saxon Street, today. He should get the mile and a half and I managed to sneak a bit of Unibet’s 33-1 ew before they fell in with the general 25-1.
I’m sure some people will knock him for the second being a 33-1 outsider but he too was a once raced winner of a maiden and is probably a decent horse. I believe Eve Johnson Houghton thought the 3rd was a lively Derby outsider also.Being reasonably impressed and climbing in at at 6-1 aren’t necessarily the same thing, nw!
I’m actually more interested in seeing if the Gosdens are intending to aim Morris Dancer here – I haven’t heard anything about this promising colt for ages?I was reasonably impressed myself. They obviously wanted to settle him, which he did nicely, albeit in a hood. He cleared away when asked and, although the second wasn’t highly rated, he had been only beaten by the eventual Dewhurst winner by 3½ lengths on debut, while the rest seemed to more or less run up to their ratings. He also handled the dip nicely, another plus point.
Disappointing result in the Djebel The winner was race fit but that wasn’t a Guineas performance.👀
I see the horse Samangan beat by
2½ lengths into 2nd in the group 2 was a stablemate of TMO so they might have a handle on this. 🤞Certainly if TMO beats him he should be a credible contender for the 2000.
And it appears to be a decent field, nw, with plenty of previous winners including a French grade 2…
Mahons Glory to run a lot of these off their feet at 33-1 ew 4 with Ladbrokes.
Crazy man Michael, as Fairport Convention would warn you.
Living on the edge again, Mike! 👀
I hardly think you needed to justify your selections, peter, but I think you’ve done so rather well! The Real Whacker wouldn’t be the first erstwhile grade 1 horse to be revitalised by the National challenge, even if the fences aren’t what they were, and I’ve also lobbed a hopeful ew bet in his direction at 3 figure odds.
As for going against Mullins at this early stage, or any other, why wouldn’t you? He might have the winner but they’re are plenty in with chances against him.Love the ‘Already advised’ Wilts!😄
Thanks for that, nw.
I think the last Djebel winner to win the 2000 was my boy, Makfi in 2010, so maybe that’s a good omen. 🤞Of course, he hasn’t got as much boot as Albert Einstein, but then who has?!?
Just seen it now, nw. To come round the field on the bend 4 wide like that and win as he he liked was impressive I think. He’s proven at a mile already and obviously has toe. Not much collateral form but the 4th has since won a maiden, so I think that’s worth an ew punt at 33s…
Thank, nw, I’ll try to sign in.
