Been thinking about betting Shanbally Kid for this for a while, but had to wait and see if they tried to to get him qualified for Aintree first

That doesn’t look the case now, and started chipping away early, and plan to have a fair swing at him over the next couple of months

I’ll end up with at least three on the day, but he’s the early go

    Topped up to 50’s

I’d be quite interested in The Enabler. Think there’s a big handicap in that one.

I’m keen on two in this, Biolouminescence and especially Built By Ballymore.

With both of them 16/1 just now, I will definitely wait. I think the entries are published on Monday

Plenty at the top doubly entered, possibly Hewick at the top,who knows.

Shanbally and The Enabler both have interesting profiles.

Just the one full field in the last 5 runnings, surprising for such a large pot.

Ground will play a part, along with any changes in headgear/tongue ties etc.

Claimers another factor,is the weight reduction enhanced in both slower conditions/longer distances?

Intense Raffles scratched from Aintree, back down to a more realistic 145.Won this in 2024 as a 6yr old on deep ground, marking him out as a thorough stayer at that early stage of his career. He looks a plodder who needs everything in his favour, given the right conditions he remains of interest.

Looks a minefield this far out, looking forward to the final entries.

Hewick does not run due to heavy weight he would have to carry. Goes to Aintree instead

Walked to William Hills just now and gave them a blue note on Karia Des Blaises 40’s
Not sure if she’ll run or what the plan is with her and its a big step up in distance

Kurasso Blue will obviously win this, although being only a 5 yo we may see him in a better light in future years.

Shame the race isn’t on Saturday so I could nap him to take over HDLG in the Saturday comp ;-)

Well greenasgrass I thought i was the only one to spot The Enabler. Decent run in the Kim Muir, a course winner and carries a light weight here. Well worth a punt at odds and I shall add in Showyourappreciation in the old green and gold.

Haven’t properly looked at this yet but if there was ever a case for restricting owners runners this race might be it. I think a third of the field roughly are either Gigginstown or JP. Commentators nightmare I should imagine. How many different caps needed? I’m sure I’ve made this comment about this race in the past.

Not really looking to add to Shanbally Kid, as it’s really just about him for me, but having bet Monbeg Genius three times this year, I’ll have him win only, and Duffle Coat will be an EW, though even with the short turnaround, I’d love to see him at Ayr too.

O’Toole a notebook horse of mine, who I managed to miss last time. I wouldn’t rule him out either. If Folly Master sneaked in, thought he could run well at a price too
