Marble sands i think will run into a place. Probably still looks a bit unexposed as never ran over marathon distance, but got the 3mile 3f at cheltenham really well.

    66/1.

I’m tempted by the 50’s for him you know!

Undoubtedly bring the class angle to the race. Just not the right weight bracket from recent years???

He didn’t stay in the Gold Cup did he though so I can’t see him staying in the GN , he’s actually become a bit disappointing away from Kempton …

Jagwar and old fashioned blot here, at least as far as his engine goes. That engine belongs to a graded horse. Trouble is god knows where his jumping belongs. I’d never back him anywhere else but over the Grand National fences, as he takes so much out of himself with park fences. A bit stiff-backed, and that requires more effort at every fence (watch his head go to the right as he approaches a fence, as though winding himself up for it). But if he learns early he can hurdle his way through the spruce he might, for the first time in his life, get into a rhythm.

He faces Johnnywho on the same Ultima terms for a half length defeat despite blundering his way round on the wide outside. For much of the race he was at least 4 horses wide of the winner. Jumping’s the risk and in an old National I’d have bet the farm he wouldn’t complete a circuit. But I was more than happy with 12s NRNB. In first time cheekpieces, he could go off half that price. Jock will know much more about him too.

    Good luck

Even bad jumpers get around now , you just take the top of the fences off when hitting them , Jagwar along with being a iffy jumper is in my eyes soft , I just see him downing tools in a fight

    L’Homme Presse now ruled out.

It has been a shocker for me this year. Flooring Porter, Resplendent Grey, Handstands and now L’Homme Presse. All losses.

I had a similar run in 2011 when all four of my ante-posts were ruled out in the days leading up to the race. I ended up throwing a random dart at Killyglen who was running a screamer before coming down 4 out. Not my year.

Panic Attack and The Real Whacker are my remaining selections. I’ll probably add Haiti Couleurs and wait for the ground to become apparent before looking at anything else, if I bother.

I should leave well enough alone, but I can’t leave the National alone.
