Should have hit him with his whip – he’s allowed eight strokes, isn’t he?!

Chepstow goes ahead after their ‘precautionary’ inspection.
Looks like they won’t need that pesky ‘proper’ inspection now!
Precautionary
Inspection.
What does that mean – "We’re going to have an inspection to see if we need an inspection"?
Apologies Mr P, I seem to have misinterperted what you said.
I thought you were implying that the the jockey
deliberately
brought down the horse which made a mockery of your previous statement that the welfare of jockey and horse came before money.
Anyway, once again, my apologies.
A difficult decision for the moderators.
He (I’m assuming it was a male) was a prolific poster and kept threads going when they were in danger of drying up. His posts were always extremely well-written and is obviously a very well educated and articulate individual.
On the other hand, he came across as incredibly self-opinionated, intimidating, patronising, and just downright arrogant!
I had the feeling that even if you agreed with him he would still found something to argue about. I realise that this forum is all about different opinions and debate, but I think Pinza just enjoyed the ‘winding up’ and causing confrontations. (Having said all that, I am in full agreement with him on the whip issue!)
Anyway, I for one hopefully will now be posting more on here without fear of having my spelling or grammar corrected!
"Jockey error, IMO. BG is bound to say after the event that he had to go for a big one.
Obviously the welfare of the jockey and the horse comes before money
"
Do you realise what you have just said? They fell, ffs!!!!
The site keeps crashing on my PC also and I’m wondering if it’s something to do with the auto-refresh as Hurdy suggested but I don’t know how to switch it off.
I agree it’s a good site and knocks spots off the RP one which is too cluttered with adverts and the like.
Regards,
GarryAs I see it, this whole issue has precipitated from
ONE RACE
that was broadcast on the horse racing unfriendly
BBC
(Channel 4 knockers take note).
Unfortunately, instead of ignoring the do-gooders, the spineless cretins in charge of our great sport have decreed to make these ridiculous and completely unnecessary amendments to the already adequate rules in place.
I’m in complete agreement with Armchair Jockey.
Being a relative newcomer to horse racing, it astounds me how this sort of thing appears to be accepted within the industry.
The horse in question recent form figures read as follows:-
12th of 14 – beaten 39 lengths
11th of 14 – beaten 34 lenghts
13th of 14 – beaten 47 lenghts
14th of 14 – beaten 140(!) lengths
9th of 13 – beaten 43 lenghtsLow and behold, on it’s next outing it wins the same race it won last year off the same handicap mark!
If British horse racing is happy for this blatant manipulation of the system to continue then fine, but don’t expect to encourage any new customers to the sport.
Quite frankly, I find this ‘good old ‘Arry’ nonsense nauseating.
The man is a self-opinionated, loud-mouthed, cannibis smoking (for a medical condition apparently), selfish big head. Due to his rule breaking, once again corruption has reared it’s ugly head into our world.
How in God’s name can this so-called character be good for horse racing?
Firefox, you might be interested in this:-
Up to yesterday, there have been 13 meetings on the AW. There have been 31 winning favourites (including co-favs) and 55 losing ones resulting in a 36% strike rate. The average S/P was barely 6/4 and LSP to £1 bets was -£13.85.
These are my own statistics and may not be 100% accurate. Winning favourites information was freely available under ‘courses’ on the old RP website, however, it appears to have gone. Can anybody tell me if and where it is on the new website?
Thanks.
"…cats use the same lead leg when leaping onto a warm lap"
Wouldn’t know about that, Drone, it’s been a long tine since I had a pussy on my lap

Thanks Bob, I live fairly close to Stamford and I shall go and have look.
I expect most of you know that Lincoln Council want to re-open the old Lincoln course by 2013 I believe with a view to bringing the Lincoln Handicap back. The old grandstand is still intact and so is most of the course. However, at the moment part of the A15 runs right through the middle of the course which may be a drawback!
Apologies GD, bad advice! However, it does highlight another issue with the new site

I don’t know if this helps anyone, but I’m currently running it through Internet Explorer 8 (Beta version). Speed wise, it’s probably about the same as Firefox, but it should allow you to play the video replays through it (though I haven’t tested it).
Mind you, it’s still a pile of puke.
New member here, this thread certainly highlights the trials and tribulations of race horse ownership, particuarlly for someone like me who has never had any involvment with horses.
Best of luck with Chamerion on Boxing Day.
If this is the same article, a bit later on he said, "…we’ll let him (Palomar) do the talking." Probably a good idea!
