Surly if Calyx was being trained for the guineas they would said by now. If you have a horse for that classic then you train them for it, you dont iffy and maybe about a race of that statue.

Calyx like persian king are by Kingsman a first season sire, it could be that they haven’t trained on as well as might of hoped so are giving them a little more time.

If AOB had any doubts about this horses stamina then he would not be going for the guineas of that im sure. This guy has trained the guineas winner 9 times in the last 21 yrs, which all different kind of horses. He knows what kind of horse he needs to win so that is good enough for me

Newmarket is likely to be good to firm or a least good grd. He won well on good to firm in October so grd no issue surely

Just means he doesn’t think the horse is good enough for the guineas. He was very keen last yr so doesn’t make much sense.

A couple of things about the Gosden pair. First of all with Calyx would you back a horse who is coming back from injury and who hasnt run for a least 10 months (if he goes for a trial) 11 if not? I wouldn’t. 2nd he is by a first season sire who you have no idea how his progeny are to train on from 2 to 3. They have already said TDH is going for the greenham so either they take each other on there or Calyx goes for a mile trial which would be a big no no for me

With TDH he was a very good 2yr no doubt but that will of been 6/7 months ago, some horses train on and get better some stay the same,so who knows with this one. The main thing that would put me of backing these pair is im not convinced that Gosden has that touch to train a guineas winner to be ripe on the day. He has had a few decent chances but has never hit the mark

Banstead manor? Since when did shiek Mo own Banstead? Really should check your facts before posting. TDH is off to Dalham stud when he retires. Although it’s bad omen that he been brought to soon. I’m not to sure he going to be as good a 3yr as he was this season.

Group 1 winning 2yr for good ole camelot from his 2 crop. Thats 3 group 1 this yr not bad at all. Hopefully he will start to get better quality mares and can kick on to be a very good sire.

15 runners that is pretty bad considering how many 2yr old’s he must have on the grd. Truth is apart from 1 or 2 there not very good they don’t tend to progress that well. if it wasn’t for cracksman winning 4 group 1 for him then who knows.

No one else a little bothered the TDH form in all his races has been shocking? His solaria and champagne races the form hasn’t worked out at all. if the grd stays G/F then I believe AVD will win.

See boys in blue have chickened out of the dewhurst with the national stakes winner which is a shame.

Nothing about Avd screams soft grd horse. Infact his 2 most impressive displays were on good to firm going. For me he needs fast grd to show his best not soft

Classic winners and multiple group 1 winners is what ultimately it’s about in Europe and the states. Having a few group 2/3 and handicapped winners at 175k isn’t going to cut it for much longer
