Just thankful the saga has ended and the horse doesn’t have to go through something he clearly had lost the appetite for. His jumping was always on the limit so falls very likely. Henderson either loves the limelight or talks himself into constantly talking about his horses. As Kevin Blake said in his blog it hasn’t been handled well at all. When loads of real racing fans were praying he wouldn’t jump a hurdle again it was clear the decision should have been made many moons ago.
The whole Southwell sideshow was a distraction. Now we can relax and enjoy the festival instead of fearing for the horse. At least Henderson got there in the end I suppose.It’s become quite the saga. I only hope it’s not a damp squib and he finishes mid division. Not sure what it will tell us bar he’s got a race under his belt.
It’s amazing what things motivate people. We all have wee targets in life we like to achieve. It does seem a pointless one to me but if that’s what he’s aiming for crack on. He will only be riding for a wee while longer before he probably jointly trains with his dad and then take over no doubt.
The 3rd test perfectly encapsulates England. Some fine bowling and some poor stuff and khawaja dropped on 5 and scores 82. Have aussies 94/4 but then they reach 271/7:but the last 3 wickets put on 100. Start their innings brightly then bam,3 quick wickets. Entertaining stuff but just missing the patience and instinct the aussies have. Maybe just let them play their normal game. Can’t do any worse than just now.
I can see why folk vote for reform as the two main parties are shafting the middle and working class at every turn. The problem is I would not want them running a school tuck shop. They seem a miss mash of both extremes of the main two with no discernible policies which will actually help those that need it. Loads of sound bites but know actual fiscal policies. They say we get the govt we deserve. God knows what we have done to deserve nigel and his merry band of cast offs.
The ashes though is about dealing with pressure and for once stokes actually stated the reality of it. Namely his players aren’t handling the pressure moments. Maybe if this team hadn’t been so hyped then they might have done better. With Cummings and lyon probably returning it looks even tougher. England have to take 20 wickets to win and they have only managed 12 in the first 2 tests.
All the bazball talk just hides the fact that they aren’t good enough. The win in new Zealand covered up previous performances. In the big moments they don’t chose the right shot or ball. Australia have a clear plan and implement it. Also they lack belief when the going gets tough. Still not over but unless they start performing at the big moments nothing will change.
I’d say Lossiemouth looks a very good bet for the champion hurdle although I’d definitely have golden ace ew. Anzadam I’m sure will progress but not sure what to make of the new lion. Hopefully just a bad day at the office. Maybe needs further as was spooked once the pace heated up.
Pity state man injured as I’d have him as fav right now if he wasn’t. Division definitely pretty weak right now but as a few have said and ruby re iterated this morning the foal population is way down and lots of potential hurdling recruits are going to Hong Kong and Australia. Could be a low point in top class hurdlers unfortunately.It was just sad watching a horse whose confidence has evaporated crash out. Surely we will not get another day like today where for an inexplicable reason he actually goes off fav having had all these glowing reports on his homework. Everybody did warn that we wouldn’t know how he was until the race yet he is fav. Utterly bonkers. Please no more spending days leading up to the race how the horse is this and that. The horse seems to be forgotten in this.
It has completely lost its confidence and looks like a fall could happen at any time.
Please just run him on the flat or retire him. He owes nobody anything but just hoping his jumping issue will suddenly go away is ridiculous and just let him enjoy himself on the flat. It’s painful to watch and you fear the worst. Please just retire him.I don’t think I could take months and months of will the hill be the horse of old. Its highly unlikely as his jumping is the issue and until that somehow is fixed he will keep making mistakes when the pressure is on. We have anzadam,the new lion and others to challenge the likes of state man so there is no need to constantly go on about c hill. If he come back and is competitive I’d be delighted but please give us a break from constant updates. Please.
How the feck has he wasted his money. At his godolphin height he must have been raking it in. Mind you he isn’t the first and won’t be the last sportsman to earn and waste millions. The nba is littered with top players who earn 100s of millions and end up broke through extravagance and poor business decisions. I feel for his family in this situation as his wife would have sacrificed a lot for his career. He’ll probably do better after he retires with media and other work. He will miss the buzz of racing which is my worry about him and him getting into his old bad habits to put it kindly.
And no its never boring to watch top folk at work. I can see why some think it and its great when smaller stables win group ones but you can’t help but admire what they do.
Just a fabulous trainer and an absolute gentleman. Very similar to aidan in so many ways but where he differs in his delegation to others he trusts like David casey and of course his son. He does have fantastic owners but he makes it all tick over beautifully. Eras come and go but right now very hard to see either aidan or mullins juggernaut slowing down.
I find it staggering he is just allowed to keep riding aa he clearly still drinks therefore is a danger to himself and of course other jockeys and horses. He’s only tolerated as he is a top jockey. Had he been less talented, I suspect he would have been banned for at least a year.
