Watched that live earlier, Nathan. It was obvious that the fav would be thrown out, but when you see the head-on, it’s borderline assault!

Turned up late and missed his first ride at Deauville , then pisses up in the group 3 at 28-1 … He’s a prick but a talented one … Yes I was on

So under the totting up procedure he has been banned for 15 days (5 of which are suspended), the final infraction was going one over the permitted limit to which his explanation was simply ‘I miscounted’.

To quote the Racing Post article:

“In a fast-track ruling, an agreement between Murphy and the BHA for a 15-day ban, below the entry-level point of 28 days, was approved with five days suspended and specialist training required to take place”.

So first off his case was fast tracked……..why?

Secondly, I am hoping it was just worded badly but if not, since when are jockeys allowed to reach an agreement on their punishment

Thirdly, the punishment is 13 days less than the entry level point of 28 days……WTF!

Finally, what ‘specialist training’ is that exactly…….a remedial course in learning how to count to 6?

We have often talked about the preferential treatment he gets with regards to his continued recklessness with drinking & driving (when he could easily afford a driver to take him everywhere he needs to go) and now we get this blatant bending of the rules for him……..sends completely the wrong message especially considering how big the Powers That Be are on ‘perception’ in the sport…….disgraceful!

I find it staggering he is just allowed to keep riding aa he clearly still drinks therefore is a danger to himself and of course other jockeys and horses. He’s only tolerated as he is a top jockey. Had he been less talented, I suspect he would have been banned for at least a year.
