Painted cliffs improved hugely from second to third race and fairly scooted away from rock away valley who was only as head behind Air Force blue on debut. Hard to say if he will stay the mile but I think he will be tried over at least seven furlongs. Alice springs looked very good indeed but minding I thought looked like it was still quite raw and will probably improve a great deal. Burantino is apparently the top rated 2yo with time form just ahead of pained cliffs. I’d say that sounds about right. Ballydoyle were behind in the spring due to the wet weather so expect a lot of 2yos out in the next few weeks.

I too think Australia will be a top stallion but feel Gleneagles will top him. He looks a monster but seems to float when he runs. As the fad is for 8to 10f champions the gleneagles looks like the future with Australia more likely to produce the Derby types. As was said it depends who gets the top mares but with David watchman seemingly training top fillies and Aiden Obrien with quite a few class fillies then coolmore as far as breeding goes are having a top season. Not too many champion horses(apart from gleneagles) but the new stallions are doing terrific and the likes of rip van winkle are doing very well too.

The horse did look seriously impressive and looks to have huge potential. Air Force blue could well be a top horse over 7f/mile.

I just wish guys like gosden and mourinho would show a bit more class instead of always wanting everything their own way. No need for the guff they talk but it seems to be that you have to behave like that to be a winner these days.

On all known form its between jack Hobbs and highland reel although qualify could well be in the shake up.

I’m sure ryan Moore/Aiden obrien were uttering a few sweary words after the gold cup but showed class by not moaning about it. Moore/Obrien were unlucky a few times, sir Isaac Newton for one,but that is racing and you just having accept it and move on. Btw I noticed Jamie spencer had a wee dig on atr so don’t think gosden has many supporters on this matter.

I know Matt is not everybody’s cup of tea but I find him hugely entertaining and his love of racing shines through. The Sunday forum with Matt,Big mac and any of the other excellent guests( John berry was so good when he was on) make it to the best racing programme around. Matt surely is better than what is there at the moment. If not we may see racing off terrestrial tv in a few years.

It neither appeals to the racing nuts or the casual viewer. As I’ve said before any of a number of guys from atr could present much better including Matt or Sean. Such a shame but as it keeps losing viewers it just seems C4 doesn’t know what to do to stop the slide.

Gleneagles has the early kick to put distance between himself and the rest. He would win but only by a length or so.

Kevin Ryan must have been so frustrated in clearly having the best horse and yet finishing second. Hollow win for free eagle as the second was much the better horse which if he gets the same ground next time he will reverse the finish. IMHO.

After an incredibly frustrating Wednesday hoping for better luck today. Had sir Isaac Newton in the first who was so unlucky, then the second in the next two and the grey gatsby in the p of Wales which was my nap. Still at least my tips are there or thereabouts.
