Until we know what caused the horse to collapse its pointless speculating what might happen. It wasnt a fiecely run race and envoi allen stayed out the back. No easy answers im afraid.

The final score very misleading. The brits won the handicaps, the irish won the big ones. 10-2 in grade ones. At the top level the irish still streets ahead. Hard to see any change soon at the top level with so many irish trained horses in the top races. The ground probably contributed to the brits winning so many handicaps imho. Much softer going would have seen the irish trained horses win a few more handicaps.

Iirc they were gobsmacked he got beat in the fred winter as he had a huge reputation. Quite similar to st marks basilica as they were suprised it took him so long to win a group one. Gw has had a few niggles or he would have won a few more group ones. A lovely looking horse who gives his all. A brilliant display and superbly ridden. Patrick must have mixed emotions as he has done loads of work on the horse so had galopin run he would probably have got his hands on the trophy. Always loved the horse. Pleased for the riccis,as paul townend said after he won, they put a hell of a lot into racing, have had many successes and setbacks. Just a tremendous performance proving he was by far the best horse in the race. If hes in the same form next season he will be very hard to beat.

Absolutely fantastic performance. Willie has been running him over the wrong distance for years. Only kidding. Just a wonderful display. Feel for the galopin team as he would have gone very close if fit. So sorry to hear about envoi allen. Its a tough sport. Rip.

He wouldnt have dared say that to davy russell as he knew hed have face consequences. The fact hes targeted an amateur is a low blow similar to dettori. Nico not exactly at the top of his game just now. Pot,kettle, black.

I get why jockeys get tetchy. Its a hugely dangerous sport and the adreline will be pumping massively especially at a charged cheltenham. Calling him what he allegedly did reeks of snobbery. I had it when my council school beat one of the top public schools at rugby. When we finished the game we had all showered and were on our way home when you could clearly hear their coach saying how dare they lose to us oiks.
One thing i will say though. Queally looks a unit. If i had his size i would have pinned nico against the dressing room wall and told him to watch his tone. Im sure other irish jockeys wont be best pleased if hes made it racial. Not a good look for racing.

Handbags indeed. In any level of sport that is competetive there is highly charged banter. Id have told the entitled prick to learn to not try and fall so much and to stick it where the sun dont shine. He comes across as a most entitled arsehole like the ones i met at uni in my younger days. Think the world owes them. Totally lacking in class and decorum.

Delighted she proved how good she is. State man i think is very underated and the mullins camp adamant he wasnt right when beaten by you know who. Lossiemouth a very good 2 miler but better probably at 2 and a half. I notice townend said he was glad the two stablemates didnt face each other so if both are fit and healthy next year back to will she wont she.

Lester did his time unlike ken dodd who did exactly the same thing. Dodd was friendly with a certain female prime minister and hey presto no jail time. The queen was said to be livid at both decisions as she was very fond of lester. Lester obviously not connected to the right people and wasnt as clever as those who pay a pittance of tax on huge earnings.

This is just crazy. I get it wanting decent,so called safe jumping ground but to interfere this way is just wrong. Let the cards fall the way they will. From a selfish point of view id love it to be very soft as id love to see gdc win a third gold cup but truly good to soft is the aim. Watering now definetely runs the risk of sudden down pours changing the going very quickly. I can see loads of outsiders winning if this meddling doesnt stop. The first days card is incredibly competetive and not being sure of what the ground is could make it a lottery

As for the horses hurdle rating. I wouldn’t have him in the top 3. My opinion of course.
