As for the horses hurdle rating. I wouldn’t have him in the top 3. My opinion of course.

Don’t like the idea of him parading before the Champion hurdle at only 9yo. Henderson is obviously going to do an interview then stating that there’s not a horse on his level in the race.
The man just can’t give it a rest regards this horse. Either run him or keep him away until he’s properly retired from racing altogether. I’m sick of this crap.

I said earlier I’ve no idea why he is parading there.

The more I know the less I understand.

Why don’t they just lead him into the winners enclosure after the racing saying that he would have beaten all of the other horses anyway. It’s getting a bit too much isn’t it.

Probably pandering to Hendo/Buckley and good PR for the Tuesday crowd

Buckley and Hendo MUST BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT. They must show the world what a bunch of bad losers they are.

I’ve not been impressed by the recent carry on about whether Constitution Hill should run in the Champion Hurdle, but am inclined to interpret his parading at Cheltenham more positively.

The horse is a star who attracts great interest from the racing public. I can well understand why Cheltenham would want to extend an invite. And for all his foibles, Henderson usually seems quite gracious to me, and I don’t think there is some underhand desire to steal the limelight.

    A quote from Hendo in the Racing Post;

“You want to see the letters we got from lawyers saying we’d be sued, but don’t think I’m taking any notice, they went straight in the bin. They were literally threatening legal action. We were not running scared of public opinion”

It would be interesting to know who these lawyers were representing.

I can fully understand if Hendo & Buckley did feel intimidated by these letters.

Were they threatening legal action should the horse run over hurdles again, or just the Champion Hurdle or if the horse was injured or killed running over hurdles again?

Has anything like this ever happened before? It does seem quite a worrying development which is why I would be interested in knowing who these lawyers were acting for.

“The trainer said: “We knew what the risk factor was. It was too high, and the consequences were unthinkable. That’s what it kept coming down to. One minute, he goes to Southwell, and he’s done the most spectacular job for British racing. Then you realise what damage you could do if you went the other way and it went wrong. I’d say I would’ve packed up. It would have been the end of me if he got hurt, without a doubt.”

I’ve always been fond of Nicky. He’s the last of the old guard, but he gets away with utter bollocks like the above is incredible. It’s been 3 months since Constitution Hill last fell. If you feel like he claims to above, you announce the jump retirement next day.

Odds on a ITV Mick Fitz/Nicky verbal fellatio interview for Cheltenham … 1/100

I think parading him at Cheltenham is a good move – there will be plenty racegoers who will be delighted to see him.

    Indeed Gladiateur.
The downside this appearance will have for those watching on ITV (as pointed out a little unceremoniously above by HDLG) will no doubt be an increase in the OTT amount of ‘Constitution Hilling’ likely to spoil the day 1 coverage.

When they have paraded retired horses in the past they don’t spend too much airtime on them hopefully that will be the case here.

The more I know the less I understand.

Oh they’ll show him , they’ll be a ” oh why’s he not running ” by from Chapman , all done while horses in the actual flippin race could be discussed …. and Mick will perform verbal fellatio on Henderson

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
