This is the upshot of having an embarrassment of riches! You can essentially piss in peoples faces and have a laugh while doing it.

I’m not for one minute suggesting he’s making it up as he goes along. But I don’t honestly think he changes his mind as often as he says he does either!

And this line about the horse telling him where they go is even worse! Unless the secret to his success over the years is that he does actually have a stable full of Mr Ed’s!

It is the reason ante-post markets are quieter these days, TC.

Not sure I completely agree on that Ginge. Multiple entries may well have a small affect on people not getting stuck in early as much as they used to but to my mind it’s more to do with the fact any horse that wins it’s maiden hurdle in November at Taunton is immediately slashed to 3/1 for the supreme.

Might help if they put a 2025 Cheltenham Gold Cup market up for me to get stuck into

“He might yet end up in the Arkle if Marine Nationale gives Facile Vega another drubbing on Saturday.”

I doubt it. With his right handed tendencies he’d want to be going a bit slower over longer trips. I never believed Gaelic Warrior was going over 2m at DRF.

It was a tremendous shout, Nathan. Really well done to you.

The horse has had a remarkable career. The defeat in the Fred Winter, beaten in the Turners, hacking up in an Arkle after a dismal run at the DRF, a weird run at the DRF last year and then the great win at Aintree. And now a top drawer performance in the Gold Cup.

I had completely forgotten I punted him for the Stayers Hurdle! :-)

Iirc they were gobsmacked he got beat in the fred winter as he had a huge reputation. Quite similar to st marks basilica as they were suprised it took him so long to win a group one. Gw has had a few niggles or he would have won a few more group ones. A lovely looking horse who gives his all. A brilliant display and superbly ridden. Patrick must have mixed emotions as he has done loads of work on the horse so had galopin run he would probably have got his hands on the trophy. Always loved the horse. Pleased for the riccis,as paul townend said after he won, they put a hell of a lot into racing, have had many successes and setbacks. Just a tremendous performance proving he was by far the best horse in the race. If hes in the same form next season he will be very hard to beat.

RPR have awarded Garlic Bread a rating of 182 for Friday’s romp. This is lower than only Galopin Des Champs, who was given 183 for both his wins in steeplechasing’s blue riband event, in recent years. It’ll be interesting to see Timeform’s updated rating on Tuesday.

182+ for me now he settles.
Its like he’s left school and has mentally matured
Should be 1/1 for next year if you could guarantee he’d be injury free, maybe he’ll be odds on, on the day
and now HDLG knows he gets up the hill, quick or heavy ground will be irrelevant to him
run, run as fast as you can
    you can’t catch me
