Ombudsman must be hard to beat here, but I’ve taken a chance on Wimbledon Hawkeye to chase him home at 20-1 ew
Nice race, and I think that Almeric could run well too
May 27, 2026 at 11:29 #1767435Are one or two of Applebys pacemakers ? Rather than sending one from France again .
I cannot see Ombudsman beaten , although I was on course the year Bosra Sha was beaten in this , Iam sure she was pretty short , was a few years back now .
Always a good meeting .May 27, 2026 at 14:28 #1767442Bosra Sham won the race in 1997, the only year she ran in it. She started at 1-5 that day.
May 27, 2026 at 15:54 #1767443Was there in 87 when Mtoto won, got me thinking(so that’s a result😀) I wonder how good trainer Alec Stewart could have become
May 27, 2026 at 20:42 #1767450Loved Mtoto Nick ❤️ such a shame he was beaten in the Arc by Tony Bin..don’t think I’ve ever got over that one.
Going for stablemate
Arabian Light 16/1 EW to spring a surprise.
I’m thinking about the extra weight Ombudsnan has to carry and the fact he may need the race prior to Ascot.
Ryan Moore has won this race 7 times and with the steep uphill finish Arabian Light may well be hard to pass if he has decided to take up the lead.
Ombudsman has a terrific turn of foot but was caught out by a front runner in Almeric last year.
Going to be an interesting race and just opting for a bit of EW value.
good luck Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 27, 2026 at 20:45 #1767451Blimey , my memory is going , was sure Bosra Sham was beaten, Fallon rode her , remember it was a lovely summer evening at least , !! Thanks .
May 27, 2026 at 20:45 #1767452Helcat, you surely mean the Eclipse over the same CD a few weeks later where she managed only third.
May 28, 2026 at 05:03 #1767459I think i got confused by that Eclipse few weeks later .
I do remember there was a open age maiden race on card and Hubbard had a rare flat runner .
I recall the evening as it was a rare occasion i dragged my wife round the M25 to the races .
Was at the Eclipse Mtoto won with Reference Point in field , my Dad nearly fainted at the entrance fee , he only stopped moaning after few races in , on and on he went . - AuthorPosts
