Taken 6-1 about Constitution Hill and 8-1 Kopek Des Bordes.
Cue another eight million pages of people slagging off Henderson (fair), De Boinville (less so, although he gave the horse a poor ride yesterday), and/or the horse himself (which only proves his critics cannot read a form book).
With Kopek, it’s the usual Mullins bingo but State Man is far from invincible, while connections might take the easy route with Lossiemouth and go for the mares’ race again. Even if she runs here, on all known form she isn’t good enough to win.
April 4, 2025 at 09:30 #1725792Good luck but personally I believe 6/1 is a rotten price against a horse which has not shown anything like its best form for over two years, has had a breathing issue and has now fallen on its last two starts (and is lucky it wasn’t its last three starts).
I would want at least a double figure price against a horse attempting to achieve something that has not been done before. If Henderson gets him to win, it will surpass getting Sprinter Sacre back.
April 4, 2025 at 21:51 #1726007I’ve got Kopek Des Bordes for the Arkle however it wouldn’t surprise me if Lossiemouth goes the Mares route. They said yesterday that the longer trip suits her

May 2, 2025 at 18:57 #1728983State Man 8-1 ew for now.
Constitution Hill didn’t look right to me even before the mistake he made.
The New Lion is the unknown and he’s around 4s already.
May 3, 2025 at 06:25 #1729083Topped up on Constitution Hill at 14s. Bookmakers (like posters on this forum) love overreacting to one disappointing performance.
May 4, 2025 at 11:07 #1729393Stretching it to say that he’s just had one disappointing performance. That’s two early falls and then first one beaten when he stood up (on top of a year on the mend).
I wonder if he’ll ever jump another hurdle. One or two more off-colour runs and they retire him in my view.
May 4, 2025 at 13:28 #1729409Bookmakers just put prices out as best guesses on what they know at the time and they obviously have a lot of data and smart people so a lot of the time they know more than we do despite what we tell ourselves. Its literally a market at the end of the day if they get snapped up obviously the price is wrong and if they get no interest at all the price is probably wrong too just the other way. Gone are the days where they’ll take a strong view on the horse beyond that initial price which is in line with everyone else in the market.
October 10, 2025 at 18:42 #1741619The New Lion , surely this is the horse to take Skelton to the top table , he’s well covered ante post by me already
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 10, 2025 at 18:48 #1741621As recently as Boxing Day last year Constitution Hill slapped Lossiemouth out of the Champion Hurdle picture. He’s still the one to beat and is a very backable price. That said, I’ve not put my money where my mouth is, yet.
The Fighting Fifth could be an all timer if Constitution Hill, Anzadam and the New Lion all turn up. Golden Ace maybe too. Let’s hope for plenty of rain between now and then.
October 10, 2025 at 18:54 #1741622You couldn’t touch the hill at the price , I really believe he was beaten before falling at Aintree and in Ireland he went out like a light , the Lion last season won on snaff early season and then when he had to battled at the festival , do you think the hill would battle …. couldnt have him sorry

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 12, 2025 at 10:45 #1741879State man a reliable yardstick. Just ripe for a younger horse to come through and take the champion hurdle by storm.
October 13, 2025 at 12:32 #1741972We wont know how good last seasons Novices were until they step into open company.
This time last year i thought Mystical Power looked a proper CH horse but, like the rest of the 2024 novices (particularly the supreme), he turned out to be sub standard.
Kopek, New Lion and final demand all going chasing – Irancy could be best of the rest.
I still think Sir Gino will end up in the CH. Just cant see Henderson sending him to the champion chase with at best 3 chase runs in his career but more likely just the 2.
Sir Gino, who i cant actually find a price for, will get rerouted here once the Hill is confirmed as finished, and would win it for me.
October 13, 2025 at 12:44 #1741973“Kopek, New Lion and final demand all going chasing”
Where did you hear/read that The New Lion was going chasing?
October 13, 2025 at 13:52 #1741976Sorry Mike, You’re right, the New Lion is of course going Champion Hurdle Route and always was – no idea why i included him in that bunch. He’d obviously be the top novice going into open company ahead of Irancy.
