Hes a stunning looking horse and a lovely mover. Come derby day ryan will have to make a choice. Wayne lordan will no doubt have a great chance on whoever is deemed as the second string. We will know more by the end of this week. Constitution river a very interesting contender.
Part of the issue was godolphins boycott of coolmore stock for years. That let coolmore get their hands on a good number of horses that godolphin didnt buy at auction. Plus the coolmore guys know their onions when it comes to breeding. Their purchase of wootton bassett didnt lokk an obvious one to make but boy has it paid off. In the short term but also very much in the long term with even more great outcrosses to their incredible band of galileo mares. Remember it was only a gentlemans agreement with juddmonte stooped them having frankel too. I dont find it boring as im just interested in seeing good horses,wherever they are trained.
Will be at chester where obrien doesnt seem to have as strong a team as the last 2 seasons. Btw watch out for causeway. Looks very much like paddington mk2 the way he is coming forward. By wootton bassett of course.As an old fart brought up in very much tougher times the woke/anti woke to and fro bores me to tears. However i do agree where folk go ott it needs to be called out if only to nip it in the bud and stop the anti woke mob frothing at the mouth. I find both sides are as intolerant as each other and i so wish that dreaded common sense could come into play. So many folk think they are totally in the right but very few things in life are that black and white. I long for a time when we can have a consensus on how we expect each other to behave. Most live in their own echo chambers and dont let any other thoughts enter their thinking. Its truly depressing watching so many folk getting so angry over what in most cases is language and its use. My maxim is if someone behaves like an arsehole i ignore them and dont engage. Lifes much calmer that way. Imho.
She is a massive filly so could keep improving. Looked like she could even stay further. Precise had an interrupted prep and it showed. Winner will take some stopping over a mile.
Hes just a fantastic racehorse. Its his headstrong temperament thats held him back. If hes in the groove hes by far the best. Always loved his wholehearted way of running. As much a machine as faugheen to pinch that phrase.
O’Keefes time will come. Townend always more under the spotlight than anybody else so errors more noticable. Very few though at the top level. Very cool in the grade ones.
Mullins will probably be well ahead by weds night. Its crazy he has so many grade 1 horses while the others have the odd one or two. Im sure it is a combination of factors the main one imho being the buying of the right type of horse.
And i can see all the replays on at the races website. Brilliant. With mullins needing to reel in elliot should see loads of top horses.
The national is now a premier hcap and will only be won by graded horses going forward. Not mullins fault the way things have gone but much like aidan and the derby hes got most of the best 3m plus chasers that are around. We are living in mullins time. Things can change quickly but he will take some knocking off his perch.
Its easy to spot ryan over selling a horse. He slighty screws up his face. He knew how good city of troy was after his first run. The win in the juddmonte in hindsight shows him to be out of the top drawer. Ryan rode some peaches on auguste rodin,none more so than the bredders cup. Not sure he loved the horse mind you as he was a moody bugger.
Goes without saying the victim suffered an horrendous experience. I hope he manages to recover from it. Victims do tend to be forgotten many times in this type of incident.
Feel sympathy for all involved. Its easy to be critical until you are in a incident. Everybody has a different breaking point. Sentence seems excessive given how many folk have been getting eatly releases from prison to ease congestion. Just a very sad tale all round. There is no doubt being connected helps you get prefetential treatment. Its happened for centuries.
