Better luck next time. Even if a horse cost almost a quarter of a million, you still don’t own Fakenham racecourse. The winner returned a nice 13/2…
I’m quite sure that race cost Mullins the Trainers’ Championship.

January 18, 2026 at 22:54 #1751004So the Mullins team send 2 to Fakenham (they must have needed an atlas), have two beaten odds-on favourites and the Skeltons have a treble on the card. That wasn’t in the world domination plan.
January 19, 2026 at 00:35 #1751005He sent two to Fakenham , added a bit of interest to the card , got beaten , thats racing . Willie Mullins is a dead set genius who gives it a go everywhere . I like to see the guy win and win he will big time at Cheltenham .
As for Patrick , if he is not paid to ride he isnt a pro so not sure the big deal .January 19, 2026 at 08:18 #1751006I have no problem with Willie Mullins training winners over here or winning the Trainers Championship. But I don’t consider his fake amateur son guiding home a succession of steering jobs around the gaff tracks just to say he has ridden a winner at every British course to be any sort of achievement.
February 12, 2026 at 21:52 #1754404Rides Stattler in the 3:25 at Fakenham. Poor Mr. N Orpwood must have lost the ride after just one try when finishing 2nd at Hereford a couple of weeks ago.
If Mr Mullins can find the necessary AW strip round the Norfolk track he might run out an easy winner. Keep your eyes open Patrick and it’s also good for the sport to book a true amateur on a 1/2 shot.
February 12, 2026 at 22:47 #1754406Thought Stattler had been retired.
What can go wrong on Friday 13th
February 13, 2026 at 05:11 #1754442He had , I saw him at Musselburgh in a retired horses parade , let’s be honest he should hose up here
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 13, 2026 at 06:16 #1754443I’ve always disliked pot hunting in any sport.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysFebruary 13, 2026 at 08:14 #1754446I wonder if Mullins or Elliott for that matter have ever considered setting up a satellite yard in the UK, and are there any rules governing that between the UK & Irish jurisdictions?
February 13, 2026 at 10:32 #1754453February 13, 2026 at 10:32 #1754454It’s amazing what things motivate people. We all have wee targets in life we like to achieve. It does seem a pointless one to me but if that’s what he’s aiming for crack on. He will only be riding for a wee while longer before he probably jointly trains with his dad and then take over no doubt.
February 13, 2026 at 12:09 #1754466Thanks Yeats. I just wondered while Patrick is doing his UK tour of racecourses whether he might be eying up setting up his own yard this side of the Irish Sea when the time comes to hang up his boots, whilst his Dad continues with his empire in Ireland as I don’t think he’s handing over the reins anytime soon?
February 13, 2026 at 14:33 #1754478He seems absolutely determined to ride a winner at Fakenham.
February 13, 2026 at 16:46 #1754486Yes, CAS. and it was such a tough race to win…. But, how can you live with the fact that a young amateur lost the ride just for you to win a Mickey Mouse race at a very provincial track?
Pathetic….February 13, 2026 at 16:52 #1754488Did they need to win in order to qualify for the Foxhunters’?
February 13, 2026 at 16:57 #1754489I expect it is 1.01 on Betfair that Mr Patrick Mullins will never be sighted in Norfolk again.
I wonder which gaff track he has his eye on next?
