Amateur jockey , Rob James , is the latest to admit to sitting astride a dead 5 year old mare on the gallops after a photograph appeared online .

I’m sure the eloquent Chris Cook will not be short of offers : he is one of the most knowledgeable racing journalists in the business .

    Saddened and appalled .

The damage Elliott has done to the sport may be fleeting but the damage he has done to himself from a professional stand point may be longer lasting , if not irreversible .

With his reputation now tarnished , it is hard to see how he will emerge from this.

I think Enable is the best middle distance filly since the war .

Tough , durable and a will to win like no other racehorse.

Yes , the weight of history is against her , and with a very good French Derby winner and Aidan O’Brien’s improving colt , Japan , in opposition , she will have to be at her best to win .

That said , John Gosden is bullish about the outcome , saying Enable has never been better , and is stronger than ever .

Frankie Dettori is riding better than ever , and he rides Longchamps better than any other jockey . He just gets on so well with Enable and will have her in a perfect position to strike for home when the chips are down .

Enable will prove too good for the rest . I expect her to win her third Arc and go down in history as the greatest filly of all time .

I say connections are right to run Pinatubo in the Dewhurst . Strike while the iron is hot .

A word to the wise .Those of us old enough to remember Bernarnd Van Cutsems’star 2 year old Crowned Prince ( thumped Rheingold in the Dewhurst ) , will recall how the racing press and punters went overboard about him and how he would clean up as a 3 year old . Never happened .

He is potentially the best 2 year-old I have ever seen . Mill Reef , Arazi , Zafonic and Frankel were extraordinary 2 year olds , and Pinatubo could very easily be in that class .

If he wins the Dewhurst with the minimum of fuss, and I expect he will , then the sky’s the limit for this little colt . Those weren’t donkeys he was annihilating at the Curragh .

I’ve been a fan since he made all that ground up at Epsom to win going away .

Just for the record . Another great horse who never did a tap at home and yet turned out to be an equine freak when he stepped onto the course – Sea Bird !

Can Pinatubo be in that class ? Only time will tell .

All form lines and common sense point firmly in the direction of Enable . She looks the most obvious and likely winner .

However , The KG & QE has thrown up a few shock results over the years and I’m hoping this could be one of them .

I have backed Anthony Van Dyke ( 7/1 ) with a saver on Crystal Ocean – the only other horses in the field that have the ability to lower Enable’s colours .

The weight for age allowance that Derby winner AVD receives from his main older rivals just might be enough to tip the scales in his favour .

We will never know the answer given that Winx is now retired.

John Gosden was asked the same question at the end of 2018 – who would win if they raced against one another .

Gosden replied that he thought Winx would win over a mile and a quarter on good to firm as ” she has more speed “, but said he would fancy his chances of Enable winning if they were to meet over a mile and a half on soft ground .

Me ? I think at 10-12 furlongs , on any ground , Enable would triumph .

Lets face it , Francesca Cumani is only there for the eye candy .

I don’t think Sir Anthony McCoy brings anything whatsoever to the party ; if anything he is a nothing but a curmudgeon and dare I say , seems to have a slight chip on his shoulder.

Alice Plunkett and Luke Harvey , for all their faults , should be applauded for their enthusiasm for the sport and good nature , and especially for having to put up with Chapman .

Mick Fitzgerald is the best of a bad bunch .
