I would hazard a guess he is wrong to blame the trainer.
If the horse is still entered then there’s a chance so they shouldn’t refund you until decs?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 1, 2019 at 11:48 #1399384Strong support on Betfair for Kalashnikov, I had a bet at 26/1 two days ago, now down to 12/1. I do not get why Lalor is as short as 3/1, he was impressive in November but that was on good ground and we are guaranteed at least good to soft irrespective of the weather.
March 2, 2019 at 18:16 #1399556A much nicer round of jumping by Slate House today, albeit in a non stellar race and he was beaten 5l. Still, I might get some sort of run for my money.
March 2, 2019 at 19:42 #1399562I like Slate House in the way I used to like West Approach – could take a long, long time to pay off
March 2, 2019 at 21:22 #1399566I know what you mean Joe…he doesn’t really look like a sharp young blade ready to cut a swathe through the novice chasing divisions. I backed him for this and the JLT before he’d jumped a fence in public, based on how much they thought of his potential last year, then immediately wished I hadn’t part way through his first run. He still might do something at some point as long as body and mind hold together.
Funny I liked West Approach too….March 6, 2019 at 15:42 #1399927It looks as though Pravalaguna could be heading here now…what with the ground and the mares allowance. They seem to have found the key to her this season, and just don’t think this year’s Arkle is a vintage one.
If they were going to run her over 2m 5f would have thought it would have been the novice handicap instead of the JLT, (taken out of the novice handicap today, but merely a guess with Mullins.
Anyway think 40/1 is a great value bet in what is my opinion a wide open race with no standout performer as yet.March 6, 2019 at 17:20 #1399941I’ve joined you on Pravalaguna. Who knows what her jumping will do at Arkle pace with horses either side of her but I like the fact that she can clobber one and gallop on cheerfully undaunted. Of course she probably isn’t classy enough for an Arkle but nothing is this year, and something has to full the first 3 places. 40s NRNB is a nice EW bet.
Plus…the stupidest reason for backing a horse- with her white blaze and feet, free going carefree (slightly careless) jumping and attitude- she reminds me a bit of a mare I used to have and thought a lot of. Good luck to her, hope she goes here and gives it a right good lash.
March 6, 2019 at 18:47 #1399956I’m with you both on Pravalaguna but hope and suspect you may have her in the wrong race. I see the Arkle happening far too quickly for her and would expect to see her run in the JLT.
Wherever she runs her allowance brings her right into it and I don’t imagine either will have more than ten runners making her an excellent each way option.
Good luck.
March 7, 2019 at 11:11 #1400049I can see the view to an extent given this is an awful renewal and her 7lbs will help. However, her form is pretty bad indeed which would put me off along with the fact there seems to be a lot of trailblazers already in the field!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 7, 2019 at 11:34 #1400055I can’t have this Pravalaguna on my mind!! Sorry chaps but she aint a great jumper and her form aint great either !!
If I was going to go for one of Willie’s in this it would be Real Steel which if he turns up won’t be a 20/1 shot but he probably wants further!!March 7, 2019 at 14:50 #1400076Cilaos Emery was a big blow for me, but I will try again. I am tempted by the 8/1 for my early JLT selection Hardline, but I have went with Us And Them At 20-1 as the new main selection, with Hardline as a backup.
March 8, 2019 at 10:08 #1400171Just noticed I had an EW treble a while ago for the Arkle, JLT and RSA. Latter two horses not declared leaving Hardline for this. Am I right in thinking that the bet ends up as a still-valid single EW on Hardline, but thatI would only get SP rather than the 25s he was when I placed the bet?
March 8, 2019 at 10:29 #1400176If your selections were NRNB, they’ll either give you it as a single or void the bet. I’d be arguing for it to stand for sure but i’ve seen both happen. Antepost, it’s a loser.
March 8, 2019 at 17:25 #1400220Defi Du Sueill’s turn of foot, rather than his jumping , will help him prevail

March 8, 2019 at 19:27 #1400241I wonder if DDS will indeed go here if the ground is soft. At the moment he’s my festival nap
March 8, 2019 at 21:48 #1400257Nap for this or the JLT Joe ?
March 9, 2019 at 09:51 #1400301I’ll be surprised if DDS goes here, Joe. Surely he’ll be better suited to the New Course on the Thursday ?
I know he improved from that heavy defeat behind Lalor in November but I think he just preferred the stiffer course and longer trip when he was behind Lostintranslation in January
