I’ve just done a little more study on this race and watched the chanelle farmer back a few times. I know I flagged up Ballyadam on a earlier post but watching the race back when the pace increased his jumping was not brilliant. He nosedived at one in the back and when he needed a good jump at the last he couldnt produce it. Watching the race back he got to appreciate its girth and as soon as he got close appreciate it felt it and kicked on again. Appreciate it most likely winner and will take a good one to beat it I feel they could be one
That brings me to METIER I cant believe this fella has not been mentioned. The negatives yes hes flat bred and I know terrible record in the race. Harry wanted another run in before the supreme too. But I’ve watched that tolworth back a few times and wow maybe this lad is just a bit special. His jumping was good and quick when the pace quickened he jumped even better. If you look at 2 out slight mistake he comes off the bridle sean gives him a slap straight back on the bridle and powers up the hill wins by 12 lengths hard held! If you get chance watch the race back I was really impressed. You are getting 7/1 who has won a grade 1 by 12 lengths if willie or nikki ttained this fella what price would he be?
I really like Ballyadam for this. Appreciate it done nothing wrong over hurdles this might sound stupid but he reminds me more of a horse that gallops. He can hit the odd flat spot. Ballyadam travelled well last time made a hash of the last.can see him held up travelling into the race strongly and hopefully can use his flat speed up the hill. Wouldnt mind a bit of good ground also.
I think Honeysuckle has a huge chance here. She will be ridden close to the pace and will take a good one to beat her. She battles and wont here of defeat. Bennie come upsides her in the mares last year and she just kept finding
The horse I really like at a price and the forgotten horse is Saint Roi. Will he definitely go here though? With epatante Buvair and this lad all for JP?. If he does massive each way shout. He won the county last year pulling a train quickened blistering turn of foot won by 4 lengths. I know hes been turned over in grade ones all winter in ireland the champion is different its run at lightning pace and can see him covered up and coming late. Totally different to the 7 runner grade ones hes been running in think the race will be run perfectly to suit his style of racing.
The champion Hurdle is a easy equation for me this year the most likely winner is obviously Buveur D’are. But the way I look at the race they is only 2 top class horses that can beat him.
Faugheen if Willie can get him prime for this and get him going from the front he could take a lot of catching and could look a big price. I understand he has been disappointing but the horse loves Cheltenham.
The other is Yorkhill he always seems to perform at Cheltenham think he will be rode off a strong pace set by faugheen and them 2 against the field I think are the only 2 horses in the race that could upset the favourite
True about American, I think he will come here though and if they have any serious ambitions of winning a grand national must go close off 157 IMO. The horse needed the rub back when pulled up first time back, A lot more encouraging last time where was travelling like the winner but I think race fitness was just against him. He will be cherry ripe for this.
Also Just a thought about mias storm she is off 149 but I am just thinking the race will be run to suit. She won a nice handicap hurdle with a bit in hand at haydock. If you watch the race back this is exactly how she will be rode in this creep into the race and she does have a turn of foot. Won’t be seeing hee till over the last though.
I like 2 horses for this race if they are aimed here. The first is the Harry Fry trained American, Love the horse and I always thought as a grand national type. Looked on his way back with a nice performance behind definitely red last time. Will be spot on for this after that run. Think the horse has a touch of class I know he will need too off 157. Just feel could run a massive race and Harry likes a festival winner.
The other one is mias Storm she will get the mares allowance and I feel if we get some decent ground she could be held up off a strong pace and stalk into the race..Both available at 20/1 I’ll take my chances on them in a tricky looking handicap
My idea off the winner off the champion hurdle is a horse called petite monchur…improved all season seeing his races out better had this as the target all season think will lead and hold on up the hill I think it’s a below par champion and 6-1 will do me.
I thought the same owners would go for the triumph hurdle with defI du seuli that’s why I thought 16s for the supreme looked massive for charli parcs and I have no doubt the horse has a serious engine.
A horse I like for this race is one nicky Henderson brought to the race track on boxing day and it’s called Charli Parcs won with any amount in hand liked the good ground jumped well and really picked up after the last!
Just a bit worried about which race he will go for currently available to back at 16s for the supreme but might be a Neptune target?.thoughts on the horse and what race will they aim the horse at?.
The two I like for the coral cup is the first one is Arbre De Vie Off a mark off 150 and with David mullins taking 3lb off.Ran a blinder in the Albert Bartlett finishing 4th.Still only a 6 year old feel the horse could still be improving.Always stays on strongly and a fast run Coral cup over 2 and half miles up the hill is exactly what this horse is after IMO
The 2nd horse is Baoulet delaroque a paul nicholls trained 5yo.Reasons why think the horse is fast improving won a nice handicap last time off 131 up 9lb today. But feel the horse saves a bit for himself and the way he stayed on last time will stand him in good stead over further in a strong pace in a coral cup.In a open looking handicap I’ll take them 2 against the field.
Yorkhill wins pulling a cart tomorrow…serious serious horse Imo! .
Thanks guys I just had to back the horse when he’s a 163 rated hurdler off a 148 mark today..glad he brought his A game today over fences…Unlucky with Holywell 2 well handicapped horses ran great races
!.Vroom vroom mag wins this very easily IMO ..improving mare will be rode the same as Ascot out the back and pick them off late on.With the fine turn off foot she has
The weakness for me in Min is he dosent seen relaxed as the other winners vatour and douvan,He seems to just do everything at 100 miles a hour, where the past winners used to relax and conserve energy to get up the famous hill…That’s the reason why I will take him on tomorrow and just think his temperament and the occasion might find him out..Just think the price is too short as well.
The horse I feel is well handicapped for this race is David piped un Temps pour tout,a 163 rated hurdler in his prime gets to race off 148 tomorrow.Ran a decent race at last year’s festival in finishing 6th..Has had 3 starts over fences and has been dissapointing, but ran a better race off 152 last time out in a class 2 gets to race off 148 tomorrow..I understand his inexperienced but I just feel he’s well handicapped and if his jumping holds up must have a decent Eway chance
It’s intresting that jonjo takes his chance with beg to differ instead off going for the Midlands national on Saturday where he was favourite for the race antenna post ..didn’t jump very well but won off 133 last time is off 143 tomorrow if he can brush up his jumping must have a serious chance won with any amount in hand last time..I’ll take them 2 against the field in a tricky looking enough handicap.
I meant it’s big as in most other firms are going 7/4 I won’t be backing Min either…For the supreme I like Yorkhill and buveur d’air so I will take my chances on them 2 in a open looking supreme for me…Sky bets offer is very good…Betfair sportsbook also have a great offer in place for the first day back a horse at 3/1 or bigger get 3 free bets upto £25 on all races on 1st day Eg £25 win on identity thief it it’s sp returns 3/1 or bigger get 3 free £25 bets .Offer on all races off the 1st day.
Ruby just gone on RUk states he will ride Min so the 5/2 hills looks big.
