Epatante reportedly had a back issue over Xmas which explains the
defeat. Sorted out now Henderson said.January 30, 2021 at 21:12 #1520545Believe that you’ll believe anything
February 1, 2021 at 23:00 #1520841Bar a couple of pounds on highly unlikely ones, I’ve left the race alone this year, and still kicking myself for not getting a sniff of the 20’s Saint Roi, or 25’s Sharjah.
I’ve decided to give Buveur D’Air a chance. Not really my kind of horse, and I’ve never bet him before.
Yes, on the face of it, he was disappointing last week, but you could argue that he needed it. I actually don’t think he was that bad, and that the winner may just be better than he’s been given credit for.
Obviously a leap of faith required, but not beyond the realms of possibility, and with the combination of his odds, and the NRNB safety net, that was enough for me.
I’m not even going to try and justify Petit Mouchoir, but I do think if things fell his way on the day, then he might, just sneak third. He’s just a small bet, but I can see him going, and bar him causing an upset this Saturday, I should be able to beat these odds on the day with four places also.
Buveur D’Air 20’s Win NRNB
Petit Mouchoir 66’s EW NRNBFebruary 2, 2021 at 13:59 #1520912I was very disappointed with Beacon Edge on Sunday, so it’s back to the drawing board for me.
February 5, 2021 at 19:04 #1521460I’ve covered Honeysuckle 13-2 ew NRNB for this having already been on for the Mares Hurdle, in case she did beat Sharjah tomorrow and connections decide to reroute.
She is probably just about my favourite horse in training last couple of seasons, particularly after she did me a good turn in the Mares Hurdle after me telling everyone she would beat BDD

She ought not to really be quick enough to beat Sharjah tomorrow, so if not then nothing lost.
February 6, 2021 at 15:22 #1521710Wow!
February 6, 2021 at 16:11 #1521741Some pretty awful race riding letting her get that far clear with no effort (similar to them giving energumene a large head start)
But she was much the best either way and after jumping much quicker comes here with the least to prove out of any of them
February 6, 2021 at 21:52 #1521829The Closutton cupboard looks surprisingly bare here. Sharjah is good but if the ground is soft or worse…meh. Saldier disappointed again today. Ditto Saint Roi who didn’t hurdle well. James du Berlais could be good but it would be some training performance to send him out and win, even if not the strongest CH ever.
Assuming all stay sound, Concertista here, Benie Mares, Elimay mares chase??
What other options are there? Spend the next month getting Klassical Dream down over hurdles again and pray it rains? (where is he, anyway??).
February 7, 2021 at 07:16 #1521859She may get tapped for speed but it hen again she,ll def get up the hill , I’ve played abracadbras e.w a few times and he def wasn’t knocked about today , I still think he,ll get nearer her come March
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 7, 2021 at 13:22 #1521930Honeysuckle has improved, the talk about being tapped for speed was more relevant last season than this season from what I saw yesterday. Tuesday is also ‘watering ground’ day so the ground wont be quick.
February 8, 2021 at 10:59 #1522171Great performance from Honeysuckle and agree with Mike that it looks like she has improved again.
Also agree with Greenasgrass that Concertista could come here now and then we’ll have three mares Epatante, Honeysuckle, Concertista all taking each other on, I imagine that would leave BDD to go the mares and Colreevy/Elimay to go the Mares Chase.
February 19, 2021 at 12:12 #1523580I think Honeysuckle has a huge chance here. She will be ridden close to the pace and will take a good one to beat her. She battles and wont here of defeat. Bennie come upsides her in the mares last year and she just kept finding
The horse I really like at a price and the forgotten horse is Saint Roi. Will he definitely go here though? With epatante Buvair and this lad all for JP?. If he does massive each way shout. He won the county last year pulling a train quickened blistering turn of foot won by 4 lengths. I know hes been turned over in grade ones all winter in ireland the champion is different its run at lightning pace and can see him covered up and coming late. Totally different to the 7 runner grade ones hes been running in think the race will be run perfectly to suit his style of racing.
February 20, 2021 at 15:24 #1523819I’m not a great fan of Goshen but that was certainly impressive.
February 20, 2021 at 15:25 #1523820I hope some of you like me took some of those big prices …that was bloodless , if he can turn up in sim form Goshen will help make this a cracker
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 20, 2021 at 15:36 #1523823Glad he is back with a chance.
I think Honeysuckle showed a nice kick putting distance between herself and Abracadabras in a matter of strides and she looks the one to beatHere’s one for you HDLG
The only one I have with ABP but plenty others with Goshen with Paisley Park, Shishkin, Envoi Allen all over 100/1
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
February 20, 2021 at 15:37 #1523824Hes no chance, song for someone definitely never ran to form, never looked comfortable.
5/1 is hilarious, come and take my money at that price on the exchanges.
February 20, 2021 at 15:39 #1523827Yeah, I wouldn’t take 5s
But his chances are far better after today than they were this morningGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
