AP ‘ s post prompted me to make another search for the place where
Betfair stores its record of Starting Prices .

This link is far better :

http://form.horseracing.betfair.com/

Then select the ” results ” tab .

AP ‘ s post prompted me to make another search for the place where

For anyone else who has been trying to find it here is the link :

A new feature from 30th. January is that Betfair customers can now
place bets by phone for a minimum of £ 2 :

” Betfair Customer Services 30 Jan 11:55

Please be aware a new phone service has been introduced allowing customers to bet from as little as £2.

For those customers unable to bet online or preferring to use the telephone simply call 0844 871 5555. “

m not sure if ATR are tied into a contract to say that they have to show all races live (where possible), whether it be split screen or not – but surely it’s in the best interests of the in-running punters (and there are lots of them) that the races are shown live as they happen.

I think you will find that if a race is being shown by the BBC and also
by ATR [ for example from Ascot ] then ATR will be at least seven
seconds behind the BBC.

For that reason ATR ‘ s feed is not really live and is a poor resource
for an in-running punter .

Mr Pitterson,s speciality is by the paddock , trying to find winners of races
based on its conformation , appearance etc..

He seems to know his stuff but I suppose he’d have to be on a lot more
often , especially in the bigger races at bigger meetings to measure
the value of his opinions .

Talking of RUK pundits what happened to Peter Harris , ex
jockey agent , a rolypoly gentleman from South Wales who does not go
in for bland platitudes and is not one of the stuffy squad . I used to enjoy his appearances , usually at Salisbury .

I think he may have fallen foul of Angus McNae . Harris turned up
one warm day to share the punditry with McNae who was
obviously displeased that Harris had turned up in a t-shirt , not
shirt and tie . It’s obviously more important what you wear than what
you say .

Now he is no longer on RUK , South Wales seems to have no
representative in the racing TV media !.

Some from GG :

" No room at the inn " [ Horse boxed in or squeezed up ] .

" Lickerty split " [ I think that’s how it’s spelt ] [ Fast pace ] .

" Here comes X with a storming run " and " Don’t rule out X " to describe
horses making slow late progress . These horses never play any part in
the finish . [ When a horse does finish fast to win he usually misses it
until it gets up on the line . ]

You don’t actually need internet access to use Betfair during office hours, just a phone

There is , however , a minimum stake of £ 20 per selection for
telephone bets .

I still think that some people do not realise that satellite coverage is a few seconds behind terrestrial television and they are getting their fingers burnt.

I reckon the ATR coverage is about seven seconds behind
terrestial coverage , with RUK a bit quicker .

Well, don’t know don’t know what the real going today was.

Whenever I ‘ ve been to Haydock there is no sign or notice indicating what
the going is . [ The same goes for non – runners , change of jockey or
overweights . ]

Looking through the results in the Hawick News , I noticed
that Robbie Fitzpatrick , the banned jockey , rode a winner ,
on Taff Trail . I assume this means he has given up any
hope of resuming his career under Rules . I believe he was
banned for three years .
