The systems page in the first few pages (i think, don’t have copy to hand) was pretty average.
Good read overall, and am very much looking forward to the weekend edition.
Are you involved Colin?

September 28, 2007 at 12:22 #116938I subscribed to Racing Ahead when it first came out. I found it quite good actually, with Fenman’s artciles being my favourite. However, living in Ireland, it took a while before it arrived on my doorstep. The March issue came on the Monday before Cheltenham while the April issue came on the Monday after Aintree! Also, I was never asked to renew my subscription so I actually thought that the magazine had gone bust.

I would love to be, Colin, as it’s all of 18 year since I’ve been to the course (as part of the same holiday trips down to Dawlish that had me visit Newton Abbot lots of times in 1987-9 but not again until this year). However, I’m well and truly spoken for that day. It’s on the list, though! Are you likely to be at Chepstow three days later?

September 28, 2007 at 13:55 #116955I can honestly say I have been reading Racing Ahead for several months, there is always something in there worth reading and there is a pleasing lack of filler. Looking forward to seeing the weekly version.
September 28, 2007 at 14:57 #116967Hello,
May take a look..
With regards to Monthly Magazines…whatever happened to IN THE KNOW?, abbreviated, ITK.
Is it still going?
Had a superb Horses to Follow feature, that reaped results.
They had a Systems corner, and Effects of The Draw, plus others I cannot remember.Although considered flawed by some, I found it an excellent media about my favourite past time

regards,
doyley
September 28, 2007 at 16:19 #116988The way of all flesh and monthly racing magazines, I expect.
There have be so many that have started up, lasted a couple of years at most and then folded.
It is very difficult for a monthly magazine to be topical when the copy has to be in about 10 days before tthe magazine is on the shelves.

I’ll give it a look
What day will it be published?
Will there be an on-line version?
Good luck with the venture, but Wallace’s words are well said IMO
Apparently the weekend edition goes live on October 20th. Look forward to it!
