Moehat, Wicklow Brave won a Group 1 (albeit the irish St Leger); given that Faugheen and A Power were vastly superior to WB over hurdles, I’d have loved to see them tested on the flat
My tipping is terrible but I can assure you that his phrase ‘Down have a whole host of classy forwards’ is even less accurate
Kerry/meath/westmeath/dublin/sligo ~6/1; westmeath the trickiest one but think Down are overrated
PPower special price; Gyokeres and Rice SOT 3/1
Those boosted SOTs from P Power have been good to me recently; I’ll join you on that Nathan. Bruno takes free-kicks and penalties and might be an open game
Noted that 2nd place in Champion Hurdle is worth more than 1st in the Mares’ hurdle
If you are serious about investigating this topic, research the reputable peer-reviewed medical journals (esp the British Medical Journal, the Lancet, and the New England Journal of medicine).
The Racing Forum medical school is now open; ‘Britain is tired of listening to experts.’
I enjoy the sports where they actually race against each other as opposed to the clock; the snowboarding and skiing races are great fun
The most important ability is availability
Thanks Zilzal, the Dubs were always the weak link; thought their psychological edge over Mayo might swing it.
As far as I know hurling in the Ards only started ~1910s, and thne was strongly influenced by a man form Tipp who settled there; found this article https://www.gaa.ie/news/loughed-away-from-the-world-hurling-in-ardsNot a rugby man but someone who is thinks Frnace x 20 pts, so £5 France -13 with PP, evens
GM23, this is why NH racing is dying; Arkle, Desert Orchid, Monksfield, Night Nurse, all built their legend over the NH season. I agree the Gold Cup is the ultimate prize in NH racing, but it’s the cherry on top, not the whole cake. The Irish Gold Cup is a great prize in it’s own right, and not just a prep.
£1 Donegal/Dublin/Roscommon/Sligo/Meath ~14/1.
Fernandes SOT evens, worth a tenner
£1 Villa/Forest double ~7/2I’ll take that; Enzo SOT was boosted yesterday to evens, waited till injury time to come through!
Down/Armagh/Tyrone/Kildare; ~ 7/2, worth a quid, Armagh and tyrone games are on TV. Very much a phoney war at the moment, so prediction difficult.
Briish PMs from Teresa May on seem so deferential now, looking for scraps from the US, China and India. Since Brexit the big shots really do consider the UK to be small beans. As an influential part of the EU we carried some weight, but those days are gone.
I remember being at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting 1978, when the rain was torrential and the ground was like a bog and waterlogged. But more senior racegoers opined that it was such an important meeting at that time that racing would take place short an earthquake, Monksfield carried 12 st in the (then) Sweeps Hurdle, slugging around into third behind Chinrullah (10st 6ilbs). Constitution Hill would have remained in his box, I reckon.
