Thanks Zilzal, the Dubs were always the weak link; thought their psychological edge over Mayo might swing it.
As far as I know hurling in the Ards only started ~1910s, and thne was strongly influenced by a man form Tipp who settled there; found this article https://www.gaa.ie/news/loughed-away-from-the-world-hurling-in-ardsNot a rugby man but someone who is thinks Frnace x 20 pts, so £5 France -13 with PP, evens
February 5, 2026 at 17:55 #1753589Thanks for digging out that piece for me – an interesting read. I suppose the sliotar is much easier to direct than the football in the windswept Irish Sea!
Complete mismatch tonight but who knows with the French! They’ll probably experiment and we may get away with something like 45-15. No bet event!
February 7, 2026 at 12:09 #1753774Red Devils score 2 v Spurs
Rams discover their inner Bournemouth again and poke one into the Tractor Boys’ net
Beavers grind out a goal (late no doubt) v the Toffees
11/8 + Treble Chance!
February 8, 2026 at 13:26 #1753930Start of Premier League in Ireland with fanfare local derby at Lansdowne Rd between Bohemians and St Patrick Athletics at 2pm
Likely one or both teams will be defensive and they’ll find the big pitch a stretch FTOUnder 3.5 (despite lousy odds)
Pool have beaten Arsenal & Villa at home this season and last week Magpie tie was good prep for Citeh challenge. Visitors haven’t always been at their best away against Prem cream and have had a very busy January
2 Pool goals
11/10 Double speculative Coin Toss!
PP WOP 2 Corners each team each half @ 3/1 looks better value. Expecting longer range shots from Citeh.
February 14, 2026 at 14:40 #1754715Newcastle from my limited viewing looked like Magpies possessed the other night. Hard to believe they can bring anything like that sort of intensity today.
Magpies to find the net this evening
Blades score at Pompey
Rams score one too v Swansea
Possible hat-trick few pence short of evens!
February 14, 2026 at 17:40 #1754771Kerry/meath/westmeath/dublin/sligo ~6/1; westmeath the trickiest one but think Down are overrated
February 14, 2026 at 18:13 #1754774You’re up against RP’s David Jennings there – says Down are on the way back up and will only improve!
February 14, 2026 at 23:06 #1754792My tipping is terrible but I can assure you that his phrase ‘Down have a whole host of classy forwards’ is even less accurate
February 19, 2026 at 17:39 #1755222Boredom Bet!
Based on Villa match I’ll Chance a – 1 H/c Fenerbahce Corner Win at a little under Evens. Doubt if Forest’s offside trap is as good as Villa’s. Let’s see!
Boyle 1-0 2-0 2-1 Home Win boost @ 11/4 looks attractive too
February 19, 2026 at 20:36 #1755244Can only conclude Villa let the Turks have the ball in that match in the last round. You only see a team at this level being played off the pitch like that every couple of months. In-play gamblers must have thought they were in heaven with those 11/8+ odds against Forest Next goal. Turks were denied a clear penalty granted.
February 21, 2026 at 13:23 #1755624Six Nations Coin Toss!
Wasn’t impressed with fluidity of Irelands back line v Italy. Not much progress from France and not of top International level. Have to guess England aren’t as average and that was stage-fright they suffered at Murrayfield. Won’t want to leave Ireland any halftime encouragement Hopefully I’m wrong!
England Win H/T F/T
Scotland – 12 H/c Win v Wales
Could put up 50 but may be pacing themselves for bigger fry
Evens + Chance!
February 21, 2026 at 14:43 #1755684Maybe the Bees, the Rams and the Tractor Boys will find the net for me for a lazy Evens hat-trick
February 27, 2026 at 19:32 #1756570I’m afraid Boro’s Duracell Bunny performance last Monday at Coventry, Liverpool’s disgraceful hung-over pub team-like lassitude at Forest on Sunday and that 36/37 % “Walking” Football diarrhea involving Man U and Everton this Monday has all but sapped my will of doing any homework for tonight’s Championship match. My guess then is that the Robins’ ground game may just about prevail against the Hornets’ more physical one. Villains blindfolded should score at least once v the Wolves!
Biggest Dublin derby between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians on terrestrial TV at 8pm too. Rovers betting looked weak this afternoon. Bohs weren’t particularly impressive in that the opening match v St Pats at the Aviva and I wouldn’t read too much into next match on astro turf. Just a hunch from goal highlights that Rovers may be fitter and more forward than last year so I’ll side with them as visitors to the dilapidated Dalymount Park.
Robins, Villains and Rovers to find the net is an Even Money Chance!
(Reckon it will be the Robins that let me down!)
March 1, 2026 at 13:05 #1756821Elland Park pitch seems to have dried out well!
Just a coin toss suggestion today at one of the less glamorous fixtures
Seagulls v Tricky Trees BTTS
Donegal Win v Galway 1.15. GAA Football Div 1
6/5 +. Double Chance!
Odds on Donegal less likely to give a way a 12 point lead than Kerry a couple of weeks ago as still hurting presumably from last years disappointing Championship Final
March 7, 2026 at 13:28 #1757479France -8 H/c Win v Scotland
Italy + 14 Win v England
@ 11/8 – 6/4 Double Chance
Fun Fiver for the interest!
