You do realise that Charles simply reads speeches that are written for him by the govt? Delivery was good, but everyone sounds good next to Trump
Apart from the Big 3, thought Punchestown was a bit underwhelming this year; no outstanding novices tto really look forward to next year.
Have to agree with GM; 3-mile chasing is more competitive, prestigious and lucrative than the 2-mile version, which even ranks lower than 2-mile hurdling. 3-mile hurdling is division 4.
Will have a big bet on Armagh (1/2) as an emotional hedge.
Had a few quid on PSG 6/4 tonight; even at 5-2 up it didn’t feel safe; both teams seem so open at the back. One of the best games I’ve ever watched; maybe bayern to qualify nowThought Donegal might be a bit complacent, but genuinely stunned by that result
C Hill needs Goldilocks ground, not to hot, not too cold, just exactly right; absurd that when he was at his best he only turned up ~4 times each season. And this was 2-mile hurdling, not 3-mile chasing.
Armagh (-4) 11/10; home advantage, some big players back, hvae competed well in Div 1.
‘Broken back’ is a very non-specific term.
Thanks Esp; just googled it ‘The winner of the inaugural race collected just over £20,000, making it the fourth most lucrative prize behind the Grand National, Cheltenham Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle.’
Found this article which sums it up very well.

I recall the Aynsley China Hurdle (hope I have the name right) at the end of the season, had a huge entry of top hurdlers, Monksfield finishing 2nd under top weight. Now its an afterthought.
At the time it looked like a serious injury; reminded me of Killiney’s fall all those years ago
Willie once observed that 3-mile chasing is hard on a horse, so he may consider the Tramore route with GW
Thanks Green
good; Lossiemouth very smooth, IET picking up and accelerating away after a really bad stumble (would love to see him over 3 miles), Jonjo picking a competitive handicap, Gaelic warrior strolling away from the field in what had been previously reckoned a good Gold Cup.
Bad; Envoi Allen, once the Next Big Thing, didn’t quite live up to that, but still was a great warrior for so many years.
The starts, too many horses losing their chance right there (though didn’t stop Istabraq).
The Ireland/Britain nonsense; at least we don’t see Irish flags being shoved at jockeys anymore. Thanks Nathan/Green, just saw the original and informative reply, edited my comment too late
A mercurial talent
Never understood what happened that day at Punchestown
