Thanks AP. This means Mr. Nicholls can wait until the 4th of March to enter and declare Tutti Conti?
February 9, 2026 at 17:50 #1754077That’s right and as this prize money list shows, he’d need to finish in the first four to recoup the entry fee, but fifth to eighth would cut the losses. Keep in mind that the owner pays all of the £18,000 supplementary entry, but only gets 77.5% of the prize money amounts shown here after the trainer, jockey and stable staff cut is taken off.
Total prize fund £450000
Distributed in accordance with Stakes and Prize Money Code
£253215 to the winning horse
The second to receive £95400, the third £47745, the fourth £23850,
the fifth £11970, the sixth £5985, the seventh £2970
and the eighth £1530There are only fifteen left in before tomorrows stage after Sir Gino was scratched. So no surprise if it ends up with eight or nine runners at most on the day.

February 9, 2026 at 20:48 #1754088Plus, the 4th March deadline gives them a forward-looking window to get a good idea of the weather for the following few days.
Example – if it’s raining over 1st few days of March and forecast says “similar” leading up to CH day then maybe they’ll have a punt.February 9, 2026 at 20:54 #1754089I see Secret Squirrel is entered for the Kingwell. He could have compared stories with Constitution Hill about white padded hurdles having fallen twice himself over them in his last 3 runs.
February 10, 2026 at 05:18 #1754146I’ve heard a rumour part of the hills ” intense ” training routine is Yogi showing him clips of white hurdles being jumped properly …
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 10, 2026 at 12:02 #1754168Two additional drop outs this morning – El Fabiolo and Nemean Lion, leaving 13 still in the race.
So Henderson (or the owner really) has paid the second installment for CH and he’s also kept Lucky Place as a possible. That’s the Lucky Place whose last run in a 2M hurdle was a 14L defeat in a Huntingdon maiden in November 2023!
February 10, 2026 at 12:15 #1754169Maybe he’ll be used as a pacemaker – flatten the hurdles before Constitution Hill reaches them.
February 10, 2026 at 14:04 #1754178Noted that 2nd place in Champion Hurdle is worth more than 1st in the Mares’ hurdle
February 11, 2026 at 16:07 #1754267Secret Squirrel could be a possibility to race in this southwell race as confirmed in consideration for his comeback.

February 11, 2026 at 16:45 #1754269Willie Mullins says he is sending one over for the Southwell gig, £40k got to have a go.
The more I know the less I understand.
February 11, 2026 at 17:12 #1754271If Willie is sending one over is it for Patrick to ride? Another track win.
February 11, 2026 at 17:16 #1754273“Willie Mullins says he is sending one over for the Southwell gig”.
That would be so funny. Please make it happen, Mr Mullins.
February 11, 2026 at 17:38 #1754274He’ll win it Mullins 😂

February 11, 2026 at 18:22 #1754283Willie will have a flat bred for it. Likely out of Frankel or something lol.
Joseph can raid his dad’s yard for a Galileo bred while he’s at it.
Absolutely hilarious if the Irish come over and take this with such a big deal made of the whole thing again.
February 11, 2026 at 18:28 #1754285Ah but remember the hill is a 175+ horse so is going to run to 140 ….. The Southwell shitshow is looking like the racing highlight of Feb
