If he runs in the Champion Hurdle it will become the Constitution Hill show for all the wrong reasons. The entire race will become not who’s going to win but will Constitution Hill make it round in one piece which will totally overshadow the other runners.
The more I know the less I understand.
February 8, 2026 at 16:15 #1753962Maybe if the other horses had run to 170+ numerous times they would get more attention.
February 8, 2026 at 17:25 #1753979When did he last run 170+ , again I’ll repeat FF5F , thats the form figures , thats why he’s running at the Southwell shitshow , this 170 rating is now fiction , the horses at the front of the champion market are there because they’ve shown form this year , the hill has rolled about in the ground , I’m praying he runs **** at Southwell and then he gets a nice paddock to retire to

February 8, 2026 at 18:00 #1753985I was about to Google FF5F thinking it was similar to FFS.

February 8, 2026 at 18:13 #1753986Birds Nest never won a Champion Hurdle but had a 176 rating. Strange horse but, on one of his going days, could beat anything.
Just sayin’
February 8, 2026 at 18:14 #1753987Lol Bend they amount to the same , I’ll ask this , his last completion was 5th at Punchestown , what rating would you give that , he finished 21 lengths behind a 148 horse , 3 behind a 140 horse …. The 170+ rating is history

February 8, 2026 at 19:08 #1753990“Greg Wood in “The Guardian”:
I thought this was a weird comment:
“The Champion Hurdle is so wide open, it’s crazy,” Henderson said. “You are sitting on two horses like Constitution Hill and Sir Gino and technically, at the moment, not running either of them.”
Eh? Willie Mullins is technically and actually not going to run State Man. Why bring Sir Gino into it? He’s got a busted pelvis and an infection and will be lucky to survive.“The difficulty of it all is if he gets round [at Cheltenham] then he’d probably be the one they have to beat. ”
Er…the last time he got round he was beaten a distance. What an arrogant comment. He’s nine, his neck and back have sustained three high speed impacts (that we know about), his legs took a battering during that Punchestown race, he’s had at least one wind op (that we know about) and who knows if his head is in the game at all. If they were all guaranteed to “get round” in some fashion, I’d still have TNL, the 3 mares, Poniros and Anzadam ahead of him. Possibly Tutti Quanti too, at least he has proven this year he can finish a race atrongly.February 8, 2026 at 19:18 #1753991That’s the talk of a fool green as grass.
If he runs in it he’ll finish in the 3.

Luv u 2 Tiz. I bet you a pint of cider he doesn’t.
February 8, 2026 at 20:10 #1753999He won’t run , connections know its too risky
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 8, 2026 at 20:15 #1754000If the demons in his head have been exorcised, if he then puts in a clear round, if he is still somewhere near the same horse that we last saw in the 2024 Christmas Hurdle, which you could argue a repeat of still might not be good enough to win.
There are simply too many ifs about him in a field where most of his rivals also have ifs……only just not as many as he does. Sadly the 170+ horse of his pomp is a ship that has sailed never to return and he will likely go down in racing history as a horse that for two short years burned as the brightest star around but burnt out just as quickly into the realm of ‘imagine what he might have been’.
February 8, 2026 at 20:16 #1754001You’re on GAG!
Bet you’re one of those snakebite types!
February 8, 2026 at 20:33 #1754003”He won’t run , connections know its too risky”
Why would they have Yogi Breisner in twice a week if they weren’t planning on running him.
February 8, 2026 at 20:34 #1754004“Bet you’re one of those snakebite types!”
I’ll take that as a compliment
I used to like a pint of Stowford when I worked in the Welsh borders. Back home, Longmeadow or Carson’s Crisp does the job. If you’re ever in Armagh, go for a tour of the Armagh Cider Company. It’s a nice place, the family that own it used to stand a couple of thoroughbred stallions too.
February 9, 2026 at 05:06 #1754029They may want to try again but they won’t try at The Champion … I really hope they don’t
