WORDSWORTH was a fairly decent performer on the flat. Finished 2nd in the Grand Prix de Paris and 3rd in the Irish Derby.
Is he destined to be gelded?
Thanks @Richard88 😊.
Absolutely @Marlingford.
I am also going to be in Hong Kong so will be attending Happy Valley 🇭🇰.
HUKUM 🤞🤞.
Thanks for sharing!
Using a combination of that guide and Apple Translate, I’ve managed to set up an account on the ticketing website. It seems as though tickets are released in batches on certain days so I’ve made a mental note to apply.
Aiming for Saturday 14/10 as hopefully less demand than Shuka Sho day 😊.

Interesting article in the Guardian.
“James Horton, who trained all but a handful of the horses concerned at a yard in Middleham, has since quit his role as Dance’s private trainer and announced that he will move his operation to Newmarket next year.”
“[It] is worth recalling that Ralph Beckett, a leading player in the National Trainers’ Federation, said back in April that “rumours were swirling for a while [about Dance] and had been for some years. Training debts and so on, so it’s not a surprise.”
Non-payment of funds to racing club members alleged to be behind decision to block John Dance horses from running.
The concerns are understood to relate to the sale of Sacred Angel by the Titanium Racing Club to Kazakh owner-breeder Nurlan Bizakov in July, and the dissemination of any proceeds to those involved in the club.
The rest is behind a paywall.
Thanks for the update @CorkAllStar.
Investigations by special administrators brought in to assess WealthTek LLP discovered a black hole of £81.4m in the organisation’s books, while creditors are forecast to receive just 21p for every £1 owed to them.
This is not pretty.
I read elsewhere that the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has stated that some claims against the collapsed Newcastle company are likely to meet qualifying conditions for compensation (up to £85k).
Wasn’t DADDY LONG LEGS underwhelming after being earmarked as a leading prospect?
Together with other European horseracing jurisdictions, the BHA has been gradually restricting usage of the whip. This is something I agree with, not only because I object to hitting a tired horse, but for the wider long term preservation of the sport.
I have nothing more to say on the matter.
@IanDavies it’s been an interesting exercise to see what other horseracing fans think.August 12, 2023 at 04:19 in reply to: “Are you team Europe, GB & I, Ladies or Rest of the World?” #1659473The point I am making is that it’s patronising to name the women’s team “Ladies”.
According to Google:
“Lady” is used much more than “gentleman,” which is still perceived as outdated. This is a problem — it adds to damaging notions of femininity, where women are still meant to be, or are inherently, demure and gentle.
In other professional sports, women’s teams get called just that – women’s teams.

I refer to female animals, such as dogs and horses, as sweety/ lady when interacting with them. I wouldn’t dream of referring to a human that way.
I was still editing my post 🫣.
Some people in eventing use the cush whip, but it’s not mandatory.
It’s arguably a moot point as other equestrian sports have much stricter rules regarding use. For example, you’re not allowed to hit a horse to make it go faster during a cross country.
As others have said already, stop the whip being used except for safety/ correction and public perception becomes less of an issue 🤷♀️.
Good luck getting the horseracing / equestrian community to stop calling it what it is.
