I have been keeping a keen eye on the Japanese mare ‘Through Seven Seas’ since she was entered into the market. Well, it’s on. She landed in Paris recently, will be training every day and acclimatising ready for a tilt to win this for Japan.
She was officially a neck behind the great Equinox in the Takarazuka Kinen over 11f at the end of June although that doesn’t tell arf the story of that race. They were both at the rear throughout and made their move coming into the stretch. Equinox went wide and coasted through to win snugly but Through Seven Seas, who initially followed Equinox wider, then darted back inside a little before the gaps closed. It was then a great effort to burst through and finish as close as she did.
I fancy the connections of Equinox might be pondering ‘what if’ when TSS gets the to be the first Japanese name on the roll of honours.

It’s already dried from heavy yesterday to todays soft. I’d say this heat wave is going to leave quick ground on Sunday. Not looking good for my 2.
Most French pundits saying good to soft for the arc due to the morning dew being very heavy. Good to soft ideal for continuous and hukum.
