The jockey gave him plenty to do and the horse answered
If yesterday was the arc and the opposition was better he gets beat
it wasn’t though and he won
I can’t take to him, yet.. :rose:

    Fair summary from Nathan, IMO.

    I’m not convinced he’s a 1m4f horse.

He shows plenty of speed at 1m2f, it was a relatively quick surface at Chantilly and 1m4f at Longchamp, especially if it’s Soft or worse, might be far from ideal.

I took the 10s after Chantilly because I knew it would shorten – I’ll be praying for a dry autumn in Paris if he’s to actually win it.

That would be my take too Ian. His speed is his asset. He’ll more than likely be held up last or thereabouts in the Arc and played for that late burst of pace. Slow going will blunt that to some extent and make it harder to pass those better horses than yesterday in front of him. If the ground is dry it will improve his chances loads. To his credit he was so far back yesterday that he had to go for longer/harder than they would have wanted so that showed a bit of character

    Onesto @ 60.0

Bodyguard services needed, toss of a coin he runs like.

“ Ace Impact has come back very well from its Prix Guillaume d’Ornano and, as I had foreseen in my previous section, it will compete directly in the Arc de Triumph, without going through the Prix Niel or the Irish Champions Stakes. His co-owners agree with me, the first Sunday in October comes quickly this year and the colt will come to Longchamp undefeated and with maximum freshness.”

All the value has gone in the market. Hukum a decent bet if its soft. Even savethelastdance is in to 16/1 though if it comes up very soft a cracking ew bet Continous I’d be interested in as he’s improving rapidly but not sure he’ll go there. Can’t see him quoted anywhere but in the prix Neil.

If Savethelastdance wins the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe I won’t eat a biscuit from weigh in to Christmas Day.

She is nowhere near good enough, even if ground conditions are in her favour.

Agree ID – even if it was on last year’s ground…..I think Arrest would have a better chance than she would in those conditions.

On that kind of ground the German horse Tunnes (unbeaten in 4 on soft or heavy by an aggregate of 24L) and who has also won over 14F is currently as big as 66-1 and that would be worth a shout.

Fair to say Hukum doesn’t have the profile of a Arc winner

Tunnel a good shout. I doubt too savethelastdance can win but 3rd or 4th definitely possible on heavy going.

I plan to go this year, my first time since Sea The Stars 2009. Anyway, in those good old days, it was a measly 8Euros to enter the course, and have access to the parade ring. However, a friend told me that the cheap entry days are over, or if you do get the cheap entry, you can no longer access the parade ring. Anyone any knowledge of this?

Sea The Stars would have sat on Frankel's quarters and picked him off!

Free bus to the course too as I recall. Haven’t been since Montjeu, though always intend to. Will be interested to read about more recent experiences.

Yes, the free bus is a nice touch.

I’ve aleady got Nashwa ew at 100-1 and quite happy with her run yesterday where she finished strongly.
I’ve added Pensee du Jour also ew at 100-1 and have backed her ew in the Prix Vermeille too. She ought to enjoy the trip and has scope to progress.

I’m also interested to see how Place du Carrousel gets on today, but I haven’t bet her for this yet.

I can’t see him going here at all, and surely as well burning money, but I’ve taken 50-1 on Arrest
