Oh joy; after doing my dough at the breeders cup meeting, backing horses I’d never even heard of, I’ve got 3/4 in the Cork Nash purely by having 3 last minute bets using my usual system; horses that did well in the race previously, steamers, top rated on the WH ill site etc. My other ‘system’ is horses that have been off the track for a long time and I missed that Rose Dobbin winner yesterday that fitted that profile [Two Taffs ran well under that system though]. Think her horses are probably well handicapped due to having a virus in the yard and running badly last year. Worth keeping an eye on, methinks….

WD moe you will be lured into Irish NH racing in no time!
And you’re probably right about Rose Dobbin.

    Well done Moe, lovely stuff.

Hope you enjoyed The Breeders Cup. Wish I had done big bets on Friday, but more relieved last night, that I didn’t. You’d have been proud of me with absolute bare minimum pennies getting bet.

I didn’t enjoy it as much this year, and I was disappointed that Midnight Bisou couldn’t quite get there.

Thought it was very disappointing, racing wise, as America does produce some amazing, iconic horses, but I didn’t see any this time…

I’m loving that Dalton Highway, even when he was at the rear, I was confident he’d place. He was a decent go as well, so I was well chuffed, not only for that return, but he also set me up for The Gatechecker, who I got at 28’s.

He really was a rescue job, as I had far too much on Woods Well, and I also put too much on Harry The Viking.

Shark and Tiger were smaller goes, but it didn’t stop me kicking myself.

A 28-1 winner, and a decent ew at 9’s should be a good day, but staking was all wrong today, and I was ahead by pennies…….and I mean pennies.

Two horses who I left out of my Ten To Follow at the very last minute, Dashel Drasher, and Geordie B, both out at Newbury tomorrow.

Be very interested to see what price they are.

I’d be more interested in Cepage for the next couple of meetings at Cheltenham.

Yeah, 100% agree on Oldgrangewood, wouldn’t really be looking at anything else in this Darren.

Maybe give The Wests Awake or Copper West a squeak too, but the 10’s for Oldgrangewood looks fair.

Rare midweek bets today, as I’m off work, and there’s decent racing.

Really excited by Dashel Drasher this year, and I could see him as a Scottish National type. Obviously up against it with Champ in there, but I thought 7’s was fair.

Geordie B at 11-4 is shorter than I hoped for, but he’s a serious prospect for staying chases, and I really like him, so he’s in the perms.

Cracking card at Thurles. You would have to say that there’s a fair chance that age is an issue for The King Of Brega, but even then, 16’s looks a fair price.

Brega is an old favourite on these threads, and so is Like An Open Book. Unfortunately I’ve been half blind for the last 24 hours, getting one of my eyes looked at, and I couldn’t read my phone. Missed the 25’s on her, but took the 16’s once I could see. 25’s was crazy for her, but I’m still happy enough with 16’s.

I’ll be having a close watch of Dingo Dollar today as well with a view to The Ladbroke Trophy.

Nothing much doing today, though small profit on Dashel Drasher in running, and he ran a cracker. Definitely more to come from him.

I tried to lay Like An Open Book, but the oportunity passed. She travelled well, and looked the winner, albeit briefly. Maybe needs to come back in trip.

Brega was very poor, and it really does look as if age has caught up with him.

Working tomorrow, so quiet enough day….

Badger Beers – Present Man 8’s
Badger Beer – Sumkindofking 25’s EW
    (Also considering Royal Vacation ew)
    1330 Aintree – Theflyingportrait Win
1415 Naas – Princely Conn EW

That’s my lot, but hoping for a massive run from Fusil Raffles as well. I hope I don’t regret swerving him, but Campeador is a horse I’ll be interested in this year as well.

    Added one Antepost yesterday……

    Lostintranslation
    King George/Gold Cup Double 40’s

    1405 Aintree
Oldgrangewood, The Wests Awake, Copper West
    20p Tricasts

    Badger Beers

    20p Combination Exactas and Trifectas

    -£118.40

Not for the first time, Theflyingportrait found little in the finish. Ok run, and I’ll back him again, but price will have to be right.

First time I’ve bet Princely Conn, and showed little, but still got an eye on him.

It’s very rarely I say this, but should have bet Give Me A Copper. Was my horse for Newbury, and that’s a stronger race than yesterday. Kicking myself a wee bit, I knew he was decent. Happy to get a return from Royal Vacation, but still took a hit on the race.

No bets today, for all the racing is excellent, and just had a few quid on Andy Dufresne for future targets, very impressive there.

Very interested in Winner Takes Itall today, with a view to future targets.

Not betting tomorrow Darren, but I’ve gave Commodore a good few mentions lately.

Serious potential, and I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t win. Best of luck.
