WD with Erick le Rouge and getting that early price, and Annamix
January 11, 2020 at 23:38 #1479609Thanks Grass, it was a very good day, and most things went right.
Erick Le Rouge – really decent win at the 12’s, which I was delighted with. Was fairly confident beforehand, but it was dicey at times during it, but turning for home, never in doubt.
Lanzarote – Backed Eragon De Chanay at treble figure odds on the exchange, and he ran very well, and one of my best lays in running of the season. Gortroe Joe was poor though, but overall, decent profit on the race.
Classic Chase – Great run from The Conditional, but he just didn’t see it out.
Annamix – No Way was I backing him last night, but I took the 13-2 before the off, couldn’t believe that price, and he was very good indeed. Already laid him for The Arkle for a green book, and I’ll keep everything crossed now that he could go here. I’ll lay again nearer the time hopefully.
Valadom – I’ve a real soft spot for this horse, and another really decent lay in running.
Tedham – Not so good. Didn’t bet him today, as he was just too short. Unlike Haydock, the trouble he met in running wasn’t a factor, and he just wasn’t good enough. Almost certainly an Antepost to write off.
Saturdays are going great just now, and just got to keep it going.
January 11, 2020 at 23:53 #1479610Got to bet Sunday now, and shock horror, I’ve bet Neverushacon.
Kelso
Elf De Re is a really promising sort, and although the 9-4 is really tempting, I’ll happily leave him for the perms, for all the price looks seriously good value.I was gutted at first at missing the 7’s for his stablemate Aloomomo, and had to settle for 9-2. Been waiting on him since debut for the yard, but happy with the price I got.
I’ve no idea why Neverushacon is over, it’s a bizarre entry, but at 8’s, I don’t care, was just too big.
Punchestown
Roxboro Road is perms only, unless he drifts, but he should go close. My main interest is Dallas Des Pictons. This could be a prep for something like The Close Bros, but equally, he could be the forgotten horse here. I won’t lie, he’s been average since The Martin Pipe, but the ability might still be there. He doesn’t deserve to be as big as this, and I’ll chance him. Would be good for my RSA bet too. Early bet in case he gets bet during the night, but I’m hoping to beat 9’s tomorrow.
1250 Kelso – Aloomomo 9-2
1305 Punchestown – Dallas Des Pictons 9’s
1500 Kelso – Neverushacon 8’sJanuary 12, 2020 at 15:29 #1479643Aloomomo paid for the day, and he won easy.
Neverushacon ran ok, but coming here still a mystery to me.
Dallas Des Pictons was only a live Antepost because I couldn’t ditch him. Certainly stuck with him after that.
January 12, 2020 at 19:54 #1479669Evening VTC
Looks like your hitting form at just the right time, always nice to see.
Plenty of decent hits, that ante-post portfolio looks very promising at this stage.
Lots to discuss over the coming weeks, all the dreams still alive.
Messaged you at the other place, like your opinion on a couple things.
Take it easy.
January 12, 2020 at 22:49 #1479676Good to see you on here again Flyers.
Cheers mate, been an unreal few weeks, but still not hitting your level of form.
A very slimline Antepost book this year, but definitely the right decision, it actually feels great not having to worry about injuries, setbacks, change of targets etc
Trying my hardest to wait for proper NRNB, especially for the Handicaps.
January 17, 2020 at 22:44 #1480048Main bet Saturday is Geronimo. Always liked him, and yard continues to be seriously underrated. They’ve had some joy at Haydock with proper prizes, and hopefully more to come.
Great cards tomorrow, but not too many bets elsewhere. I’ve bet a few more, Culture De Sivola and Soul Emotion, while I nabbed early price on Sam Brown.
I’d read about doubts over Taunton taking place tomorrow, but website doesn’t mention anything, and haven’t read it anywhere else. If it does go ahead, I’ll definitely be with Myplaceatmidnight.
Really interested to see how Darasso and Ballyandy get on tomorrow, and both are my idea of proper dark horses for Champion Hurdle, though haven’t bet either of them for Cheltenham, and not betting them tomorrow either.
Culture De Sivola 14’s
Geronimo 10’s
Sam Brown 4’s
Soul Emotion 9’sPossible – Myplaceatmidnight
January 19, 2020 at 13:53 #1480245Frustrating day yesterday, and very similar to how it went a few months back, with the lays saving the day.
Soul Emotion was a cracking lay beforehand, and was green before the off, while Myplaceatmidnight was a similar story in running.
Sam Brown was a nice winner at the 4’s, and he remains an interesting one.
That was enough to keep me ahead on the day, but not by much, as Culture De Sivola was never sighted, and Geronimo was main bet, so he took a fair chunk of the winnings with him.
Only one today, and I think Tintangle might be a wee bit overpriced, and I’ll try and beat the 18’s.

More like it yesterday though, and Total Recall was one of my biggest winners of the season. Going win only made a huge difference, and probably something I’ll have a look st it.
Was desperate to follow up today, but just couldn’t find a bet.
Great Saturday cards at Cheltenham, Doncaster, and Fairyhouse tomorrow, though very few betting opportunities. More a day to enjoy.
I’ve already bet Ok Corral for The Skybet At 26’s, but I’ll shave a bit of that off tonight, as I’d also bet Mister Whitaker, but it gives me a free race, and I’ll still be chuffed if he wins. If I lay at a decent price, I might even cover Dingo Dollar as a freebie, but st the prices that’s very touch and go at the moment.
In the 1220 at Doncaster, Midnight Moss to five places at 10’s looks a no brainer, while I like the look of Highest Benefit at Fairyhouse.
I was considering Cliffs Of Dooneen at Lingfield, and Cepage at Cheltenham as well, but I’ll watch market with that pair.

It’s something i’ve been doing a lot more recently, especially in races with bad ew terms.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 24, 2020 at 22:47 #1480735Yeah Jack, it’s something that’s been doing well for me lately.
I lay most of my bets at some point anyway, either beforehand or in running, and I always do it for profit if I can.
Seems pointless to waste cash for a few quid extra for the place, as if they’re in contention at the business end, I get my cash back anyway.
Its not a hard and fast rule, but I had double on Total Recall for the win, having not went Each Way, so it worked out very well yesterday.
January 25, 2020 at 20:28 #1480838Yet another very good Saturday, chuffed to bits.
Despite what I said about win/ew last night, that 10’s Each Way On Midnight Moss really was a no brainier. Comfortable third, and though he’s looking like a horse who’s going to be difficult to win with, there should be plenty of money to be made on him in the future.
I then had Cepage do the business at 9’s, and he really dug it out, while Highest Benefit at 7’s won easy, though the jockey gave me a scare near the post.
Highlight of the day was Ok Corral, and though I gave half of it away via Dingo/AP, it didn’t matter, he was still a fair go at the 26’s, and he got a good roar home from me.
Dingo Dollar and Cliffs Of Dooneen were beaten out of sight, but a seriously good day, as I had them all permed as well, and I’ll definitely be playing Sunday, especially with a proper old favourite back.
January 25, 2020 at 21:31 #1480844One of my biggest hopes of recent year, Sutton Place, is (hopefully) back tomorrow. I reckon he’d have been very good if not for his fragility. It wouldn’t actually surprise me to see him pulled, and he’ll certainly be entitled to need this should he run, but it’s still good to see him back. He’s obviously very difficult to recommend, but I’ll bet him anyway.
Carefully Selected looks absolutely rock solid, and he’s looking a serious contender for The National Hunt Chase. I’ll go against him tomorrow though, and I honestly think that Spyglass Hill will outrun the odds. Maybe difficult to see him win, but it’s a cracking EW Price, and he’s one I don’t mind betting for the place, though I’ve got more on win only, with my new approach.
I gave Like An Open Book a good look last week, but left her to a forecast only. Was a winner that got away, falling late on, when looking the winner, and it would have been a nice in running lay for me. She’s a good price tomorrow once again, and though bsck out fsirly quickly, she’s worth changing.

I like a few others tomorrow, and I’ll be watching Edwulf closely, with a view to Cheltenham, but he’s too short to back.
January 26, 2020 at 18:33 #1480934Really decent profit from Spyglass Hill today, but I’d much rather he stayed on his feet, as that 25’s was a daft price, and it would have been a nice winner to stick up.
Sutton Place looked a shadow of his former self, while Like An Open Book got one of those rides that are hard to explain.
Spyglass sorted today out though, and been a good few weeks, so I’m having a rare Monday bet.
Lake View Lad might just be underrated enough tomorrow at Kelso. Hard to be too enthusiastic over timber, but he looked as good as ever at Wetherby last month, and he can win here without blowing his Aintree mark.
