Were you on Dell Arca yesterday? I’ve backed him so many times over the past few months [or possibly longer] but had to go out yesterday afternoon, thereby missing the racing. So he would place at 33/1 +. I know you quite often bet him. I’m currently following Emma Smith Chaston when she rides for Micky Hammond but, again, seem to miss out on her wins. I think he’s using her claim very effectively.
February 9, 2020 at 23:11 #1482535Oh don’t remind me Moe.
Quiet betting weekend for me. Apart from Betfair Hurdle, the only other bet I had was a small one on Vive Le Roi.
One of those bets I instantly regretted, as it was a bet for the sake of it, small or not. He went out in front, and he was best from the off. Spent the rest of the race asking myself why I wasn’t on Dell Arca. Watched him through the race, and it was a cracking run. He’s definitely got a win in him this year, and be interested in where he goes at Cheltenham.
You know me Moe, I always like your “under the radar” jockeys, so I’ll definitely keep an eye out.
Ding Ding a big price tomorrow Moe. You posting on the thread is an omen. 16’s, worth a couple of pounds surely.
February 11, 2020 at 00:36 #1482599Never crossed my mind they’d be racing on Monday with the weather being so bad. I think little Ding Ding has lost her way. She’s too tiny to carry too much weight and she’s a victim of her own success. This season they seem to be upping her in distance, then bringing her back down again. Upping her in grade. Then today she ‘raced prominently’ which isn’t her at all. Either way she’ll always be the best named racehorse ever [Winker Watson/5 Bells; maybe she should be called dingdingdingdingding though]. Mike got me a decent ipad for Christmas which means I can now listen to W Hill racing radio anywhere, which might or might not be a good thing!
February 11, 2020 at 01:33 #1482602Yeah, another disappointing run from her Moe, but I had to have a couple of pounds on her, after you posting last night.
I know you’re a big fan of William Hill Radio, but I’ve still never given it a listen. I’ll have to give it a bash.
February 11, 2020 at 13:17 #1482635It isn’t just the racing chat I love on W Hill, it’s genuinely funny a lot of the time as well. I’d be distraught if they ever scrapped it. Also I ‘ve met several of the people on it when they used to come to our racing club. It fills the gap left by that folding. John Budden [Sir]is a regular contributor and he’s wonderful.
February 12, 2020 at 01:31 #1482689I’ll definitely have to give it a listen Moe.
February 17, 2020 at 00:36 #1483137There have been a lot of handicaps in Ireland recently with loads of runners paying 4 places, sometimes with big priced placed horses. Having fun looking out for outsiders that are being backed before the off! My account was down to £4 the other day and I doubled it that afternoon. It’s still only £7 mind [It started off at £20! but I have got a lot of ante post bets still going].
February 17, 2020 at 23:48 #1483184Sounds like my kind of races Moe, love watching the gambles happen on Oddschecker before the off…….even better if you’re on beforehand.
February 18, 2020 at 20:08 #1483251Happy with General Principle today at the 28’s. Really thought it was his for the taking, but the mistake three out did it for him.
Emily Moon, Notebook horse from Leapordstown, is running at Punchestown, and I’ve put some of the winnings her way at 25’s. Just went win only.
February 22, 2020 at 12:36 #1483607Not too many today, but some very nice racing…..

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 22, 2020 at 17:18 #1483653Oh I was cursing you for a long way Jack lol, he travelled really well, thought you had bagged another one.
I didn’t really fancy much at all today, and was probably a few bets for the sake of it, but I did have a decent enough bet on Dromore Lad. He was the opposite of yours, and I knew I was beat after a furlong.
February 25, 2020 at 16:58 #1483849Emma had a good 2nd at Catterick today; started at 10/1 but I backed it at 18’s this morning. So relieved that I noticed it as I was convinced that Catterick would be abandoned. Mickey Hammond is one canny trainer and he’s using her claim very effectively. Wish we could stay at Middleham again and get a bit of inside gossip!
February 25, 2020 at 17:03 #1483850Excellent Moe, I like these wee angles of yours, so I’ll have a look at her definitely.
