Can someone explain to me the Presenting Percy folklore?

I follow Irish racing and the form as much as anyone on here im sure, but don’t see the amazement?

Yes good enough form, outstanding form? No.

Yanworth is going for the RSA or the Stayers Hurdle the trainer said last week.

Ham+Mike, glad not everyones fallen for him!

Even Gary O’Brien thinks hes his best bet for Chelt!

RSA could be a decent enough race.

I recall Alan King saying that Yanworth would probably go for the Reynoldstown as a prep for the RSA; the fact that he’s not entered at Ascot on Saturday (and there’s been no news regarding any injury) would suggest that plans may be changing.

Hes been fairly week for the jlt/rsa on the exchanges, shortest price in the stayers of those 3 races, havent herd anything but seems like the plan may have changed.

I am generally a crochety old git about the media going nuts for Bryony every weekend….but….wasn’t it great to see little Blackie wing the last today and zoom on home? Good luck to the pair of them at Cheltenham.

Also think Mount Mews be nice for next year when his jumping is slicker and quicker.

She’s remarkable in her confidence which must do so much for whatever she’s riding. Mostly sits quiet at fences and even when she sees a stride she’ll urge smoothly rather than the dramatic throw of arms you see from some when asking a horse up.

She’s the best thing to happen to the sport since Frankel.

Presenting Percy has gone up in my estimations after that.

I rather monalee myself and have been chilping away for a while as previously said but regardless of that, i fear presenting percy will have left any chance in the rsa at gowran today, that cant have been ideal having such a hard race so close to this.

I’ve bet Black Corton for this years King George, so I would absolutely love to see a big run from him in this, but that Flogas was a strong race, and Monalee will be tough to beat.

Only early bet I had in this was Livelovelaugh, but cashed him out, so left with three outsiders.

I think Tombstone is unlikely to head here, with other more obvious targets, while Shades of Midnight looks certain to go for The National Hunt Chase.

That leaves my main hope with total outsider, Pylonthepressure. Decent as a Novice Hurdler, but he then had a setback. Liked his attitude for his comeback win, but I seem to have been alone with that. He’s unlikely to win this I know, and he holds a few other entries (also bet him for 4 Miler), but I’d love to see him head here, and give me a bit of hope…………for about two minutes.

    Pylonthepressure 500’s to 630’s
Shades of Midnight 510’s to 530’s
    Tombstone 210’s

I’ve had a bit of the 40s on offer from BetWay about Bonbon Au Miel for this. He hacked up last time, looks like a stayer and by all accounts he’s going to run here.

I am also with Bonbon Au Miel at 40-1 ew here. The fact that they prefer this makes all the difference and you had to be impressed with that win last time

I’m on elegant escape at 33/1 for a decent bet.

Clearly the best uk novice chaser in a race that has been dominated over the last 20 years by the uk.
Has the beating of Black Corton without any doubt at this track.

When he was 2nd to Black Corton off level weights it was clear from a very early stage that EE hated the sharp track. Also the Tizzard stable was not in very good form at this time. Despite all of this EE beat the rest off and was closing all the way at the finish to get within a length and a half.

EE is an out and out galloper, I don’t see how it’s possible that black corton will even get close this time round at Cheltenham and I have no doubts that EE will beat Black Corton.

That makes EE the best of the uk horses which means he has a huge chance here.

Presenting Percy will run flat, Monalee and Al Boum Photo to beat.
No way is the only horse alive to get SAMCRO off the bridle a 33/1 shot to beat monalee and al boum photo.

DOnt know what to make of EE myself, i wouldnt take much note of his ptp against samcro, samcro won it cosily, not much else in behind, different trainers etc

Id be worried about his cheltenham form,
Why does EE have the beating of black corton at this track? If it wasnt for giving EE weight black corton would be 2/2 against EE? That was the only time BC has been beaten this season..

You may be right, dont see it myself though and i agree with PP, hes a shocking price.

EEs cheltenham form is good. Ran a cracker to be 7th over hurdles at last years festival.
This horse was never a hurdler and it was a great run at odds of 100/1.
EE is a galloper who needs a fast run race he will get just that at Cheltenham. The track will play to his strengths as will the speed the race is run at. I expect him to improve massively in the race on all previous form as he has been running in small field races that have been run at a crawl all season.

Had the perfect prep for this race as well, easily winning a 4 runner race from the front without being put under any pressure as opposed to the fav who has had an awful prep for this race. A really tough race on heavy ground against a gold cup horse just weeks before the rsa.

Although Black Corton is 2/2 at Cheltenham he was a fortunate winner in a 5 runner race where 2 of the rivals fell beating Fagan and ballymallin. He had been passed and was struggling til the horse who passed him fell 3 out and left him an open goal.

The. Won another class 2 novice at Cheltenham but only had 2 rivals to beat. Ballyoptic was challenging when making a mistake that cost him the race and ballyoptic isn’t suited by Cheltenham.

I really can’t see Black Corton beating EE at Cheltenham. Also EE’s best is yet to come, Black Corton has probably already shown us his best.
