Looks like Ruby may be out – had to be helped off the track after his 2nd last fall.
March 14, 2018 at 14:25 #1346461Elegant Escape can’t win.
No horse with the enitials E E has ever won the RSA. 😉I’ve backed Presenting Persy with a saver on Monalee.
I’ll keep an eye on A Boum Photo in the race to see if he jumps better for Ruby, just in case I need another saver.Combined odds of Evens either PP or M win, looks good to me.
For Mash get Smash.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2018 at 14:29 #1346462Potato, you brought a bit of fun to the proceedings and I would have loved him to win for you.
I might be the only one, but I am looking forward to your next big hope
March 14, 2018 at 14:32 #1346463Unlucky potato, was a bit of fun arguing our points. Horse ran a good race, glad you picked up your place money
March 14, 2018 at 14:36 #1346466Easy as pie for Presenting Percy. Mightily impressive.
Monalee was never really settled. Perhaps Fehily should have just let him go on. He was always covering the low jumping Black Corton who kept hitting fences. Nicholls’ horse wouldn’t have won by any stretch of the imagination but his shoddy leaps meant that he was always working too hard to maintain a lead over a restrained Monalee and that’s always game over.
Elegant Escape ran roughly as he was entitled to do on form but the fairy tale is over.
The word is that Ruby has a broken leg. You can’t make this stuff up and best wishes to Ruby. That’s incredibly cruel luck.
Spoiled a great winner hearing that but the Irish proved best by a long way today. Well done winners.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 14, 2018 at 14:42 #1346470With a quieter campaign I could see BC doing something big next season. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see EE put a big race in in a national one day.
Congratulations to the first two. I think this was one of the better RSAs of recent years, and I was wrong.

So don't run, just like the others always do
March 14, 2018 at 15:03 #1346474Black Corton and Elegant Escape won’t be good enough to win Grade 1’s next year.
Ruby had third place on A Boum Photo before coming down at the last, and with BC not jumping as well as he can EE was only the 5th best horse. If latter wins a top race I agree it could be the Grand National. Although Tizzards tend to campaign their horses hard, so handicapper will have a good idea of his worth.
Monalee might last longer if held up behind horses, but that would probably not make most of his greatest asset – fast jumping. Looks an ideal Ryanair type. Presenting Percy a Gold Cup winner!Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2018 at 15:06 #1346475Yeah two very smart horses, ryanair for monalee looks a nice prospect for next year and presenting percy will be bang there with the gold cup contenders.
Black corton has peaked, game little horse though, worst round hes put in today.
March 14, 2018 at 15:45 #1346486The winner definitely looks Gold Cup material; love how he accelerated away between the last two fences, still had plenty in the tank
March 14, 2018 at 22:37 #1346583PP was very impressive but he’s probably beat an empty Monalee who may also have gone a bit early (Noel had no choice really TBF). No chance he could sustain running with the choke out for 3 miles in that ground. Owners be wishing they went JLT now i bet (Isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing).
All together though it was a great training performance from PK & Davy rode a lovely patient race.
March 14, 2018 at 22:40 #1346587Horses who jump the last the way PP did have an enormous engine and I’d very happily back him against anything for the Gold Cup
March 15, 2018 at 02:19 #1346627I didn’t see any of the races, I was travelling down south most of Wednesday to
head to Cheltenham on Friday. I didn’t back anything today, but had an ante post
on PP at 6/1 (on page 6). I just watched the replay and he looked awesome. I’ll
happily come down next year to watch him in the Gold cup. It’s a long time off,
but I think 8/1 might look pretty huge come next March. - AuthorPosts
