Perfect day for a gamble CAS , not the first time it’s happened during the festival
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 12, 2026 at 13:48 #1758916I’ve given up watching live racing on RTV. I think the positional graphics are affecting my ADHD!! I’ve self-diagnosed!
Actually I did watch it back and the graphics were as inaccurate as ever, but it’s not about accuracy, it’s about the viewing experience!
March 13, 2026 at 16:26 #1759559Lydia Hislop to Rich Ricci: “Why did you want to win the Gold Cup so much?”
Ricci: “Because it is the pinnacle”.
That Q&A is worth the subscription.
March 25, 2026 at 19:15 #1760958RTV getting very excited. At the first sight of Constitution Hill entering the pre-parade ring, Alex Steedman said “A penny for his thoughts”..
March 25, 2026 at 19:19 #1760959I’m so glad I cancelled my subscription. Not only due to the pointless graphics during the race, but the ever-expanding cast of presenters appear to be getting even more asinine.
March 30, 2026 at 16:04 #1761462Does anyone know why the positional graphic is not used (thankfully) for all UK & Irish flat AW & turf racing but as soon as it goes to the slower pace of a NH meeting at Ludlow the annoying thing appears again? I’ve given up asking RTV themselves.

Unfortunately it appears those responsible are too thick to understand that.
Despite what some have suggested it looks like split screens are not compulsory. The 4.17 at Bellewstown today was not shown live as was the 4.50 at The Curragh on Dubai World Cup day.
April 11, 2026 at 18:10 #1763225I shall get to Punchestown and that will be it for me with RTV and I was there at the beginning.
Still have no clue as to why flat racing on the channel escapes the positional graphics but not jump racing including the National?
The graphic popped up for a split second in a couple of flat races at Catterick the other day and then promptly disappeared.
It’s a mess on RTV and so inaccurate. The other day we had 6 horses still running but only 5 on the positional graphic for a couple of minutes. Perhaps the tracker had fallen off?!
Despite subscribing I have watched pretty much most of the Cheltenham & Aintree Festivals on ITV. How long before follow Sky & RTV in showing positional graphics?
April 11, 2026 at 18:32 #1763231I cancelled my subscription a few months ago and haven’t missed it one bit.
The most interesting RTV programmes (Luck On Sunday, This Racing Life) are available on YouTube, while live races can be watched via the Racing Post website, your bookmakers or other streaming sites. And all replays are free on the Sporting Life website within minutes.
April 12, 2026 at 00:24 #1763292I’ve said it before, you folks are absolutely blessed with having FREE terrestrial TV and have no idea how lucky you are.
Free racing TV covering endless racing throughout the year and all you do is constantly bloody moan about it all.
It’s aimed at a broad market and tries to balance the product, a little education and make it look fun so that perhaps more people will at least visit and see for themselves.
If you’re not happy with that, then put your hand in your pocket and subscribe to Sky or RTV and listen to their mundane, but solely racing presentations.
April 16, 2026 at 14:00 #1763808Oh good, McNae and his RaceIQ data. With Martin Dwyer as his sidekick.
Time to switch over to SSR.
April 16, 2026 at 14:14 #1763814Agree with Griff, who’s post has had a massive response (not).
It’s not perfect, but neither are any other outlets. I can watch it, as can anyone who can’t or won’t pay extra.
Home Schooling is a joy and they’re good on horse injury updates.
Just to still be able to see racing is a bonus for many.
Sometimes it seems as though some people just like to have a bit of a bitch.
Personally, I appreciate the programme while it’s still available to the masses. It may not last.April 23, 2026 at 09:54 #1764549Yet another link to a Racing TV survey in my inbox. How many more of them do they need, for goodness sake!
April 23, 2026 at 12:32 #1764551“Agree with Griff, who’s post has had a massive response (not).”
Maybe because you both appear to have posted on the wrong thread. This one is about Racing TV not ITV Racing.
Regarding those annoying, distracting positional graphics that are neither use nor ornament, I’ve yet to hear from anyone who likes them.
In fact from the multitude of presenters and pundits on Racing TV I’ve yet to hear from just one of them what a great addition the graphics are to their coverage and why?April 23, 2026 at 13:58 #1764554Yes, quite right, I’ve posted on the wrong thread.
I stupidly just responded to Griff’s posting without checking which thread I was on. I’m not very bright.
Griff has posted the same post on the ITV thread, where I intended to reply, but there’s no response to that one either. Even though it’s on the right thread!
No-one has to respond to any post of course, much better to just keep on bitching about the only free-ish racing coverage we’ve got.April 23, 2026 at 16:03 #1764561I finished the survey by asking how many more times do I have to say:
a) McNae and RaceIQ are rubbish.
b) The on screen graphics are intrusive.
c) The ever growing number of presenters and pundits is a bit much on a channel where all the profits are said to go back into racing.
d) Why is Neil Channing on “Luck On Sunday” so often?April 23, 2026 at 16:12 #1764563Still no idea why flat racing on RTV doesn’t have any of the intrusive (and often inaccurate) positional graphics but NH fans are apparently stuck with them? Where is the logic in that?
