"If it gets up?"
A sick joke?
This should have been in place yeears ago.
How can a jockey tell if a horse that has fallen is OK?
More paying customers with white skin may go through the turnstyles at racecourses, but in all racing aspects there days is it not Arab nationals who have the final say on British racing?
I feel this is only the start.
So much of what we take for free on the Internet will soon have a charge on it.
Bad news for the Internet user, but surely only fair for those who supply the data?
Silver Rime is back out at Ayr today competing in the 7f Wilsons Auctions Handicap.
Maybe a bit out of his depth here or could he be value place only on the Tote?
Hmmmmmmmmmm
I never went with the market, prefered to study for hours and then go with my own judgment.
"As regards the whip, I was brought up on Lester Piggott as a child, and I just regarded it as natural. However, I find it very unsavoury in NH racing."
What other animal is it ok to whip within public view.
The racing industry cannot be exempt from certain standards in our society.
Young (?) fella…
The creature was fancied enough for £12500-£500 Each Way £5000-£200 Each Way £8000-£400 £2000-£100 Each Way to be invested in its chances.
It had run on heavy, good to firm, standard, and soft ground and there appears no preference to any going.
It had run at 7f, 8f,, 9f, 12, 14f and only showed a glimmer on hope at 12f.
Even being dropped 5-points in it ratings made it look even a good bet for a place.
Dropping from 4 to 5 and to 6 in the class of race did not show a sparkle.
It was not for Mark Johnston’s yard and although it must have been showing something on A G Foster’s gallops it never seems to produce anything on the track.
The gelding must have looked good at home but if one went by form, even 10p win and place would have been like throwing one’s money away.
A racing forum but it seems like some only talk through their pockets and are not willing to look at all aspects of the racing game.
I made my money gambling by looking at small details like this
"Why can’t this clown build a website which doesn’t have grey text on a black/grey background?"
Another moan from track.
Football at the top level is the only other one i can think off. And through time something will have to give there.
."Maybe the RSPCA has got better things to do with its time and money than throw them down the drain".
Are you trying to tell the board that that this organization puts money and before the whipping of an animal? Remember this case would not be heard at the OLD Bialy with Rumpole as one of the QCs.
One successful conviction would see more thought being given to how often a jockey whips a horse.
Maybe time the RSPCA too out a prosecution on a rider who will not adhere to the rules laid down by the horse racing authority.
After all, would an RSPCA offficer watch a member of the public strike a dog with a whip or whith is boot?
Far too much racing it has long passed saturation point.
a booking friend was telling me the other week that even the old guys who have been betting hosrses all their days, are turning to bet on other sports.
"Would appreciate it if you’d spell the horse’s name correctly, Tom; he’s an old favourite of mine."
"There’s nothing like good research, accuracy and attention to detail is there, Tom?"
YAWN
John Rickman The first man to introduce horse racing on an independent channel and in my opinion modern day TV racing teams do not match up to his professionalism.
With John was Brough Scott, Ken Butler,Tony Cooke, John Penney and Raleigh Gilbert, all I put more trust in, that today’s mob.
But the daddy of them all has to be Peter O’Sullivan.
And it does not look like anyone is about to sail out and take over the bridge in the near furture.
In the mean time racing is drifting closer and closer to the rocks.
