I only read Nick Mordin when I remember to, every few weeks, rather than eagerly awaiting his posting each week.
I thought his thoughts this week seemed quite convincing, and that he made racing seem an easy game.

Why can’t this clown build a website which doesn’t have grey text on a black/grey background?
August 27, 2009 at 22:11 #246104I don’t know.[/color:aaws8x0p]
August 27, 2009 at 22:24 #246105As often is the case with Nick Mordin, some interesting thoughts for discussion/perusal but I’d evaluate the insights in 6 months time rather than now.

Yes, but in six months’ or nine months’ time we’ll know they’re wide of the mark. But they seem okay now.
August 27, 2009 at 23:01 #246112Yes but shouldn’t we be looking for someone who, in six months time, we’ll look back and say, ‘he was pretty much spot on’. Rather than ‘seemed plausible enough at the time but turned out to be a load of sh**e’.
August 27, 2009 at 23:09 #246115There are some interesting ideas – more than usual probably – but also large holes in some of the arguments. Typical fare, in other words.
August 27, 2009 at 23:34 #246121I enjoy reading Mordin’s column and sometimes something sticks in my mind……..like this from December 2008…..
"Clearly Mon Mome is a smart staying chaser when he has some cut in the ground. But, having seen the way he ran here, I’m not sure I’d want to trust him in future. The exception for me would be a race over the Grand National fences at Aintree where his safety-first style of jumping would be a big plus"
We all know what happened next…………

Another moan from track.
