Hey Glen as always you are spot on  :D , but on a serious note , I havent been on a race course for 2 yrs , its just easier to play from home , I just dont know how the betting shop punters notice the difference between virtual and live racing , such is the levell of dross on offer

I was in a betting shop recently it was were great to be smoke free , but it was almost empty and the 5 guys that were there ,were playing the roulette machines , so owners will have to be digging very deep soon

    cheers

I dont underdstand the guys who keep piling on more racing , its obvious to us on here that its strangling the game financially , if we can see it , surely they can ???

racing is reaching melt down really rapidly, I wonder just how long more owners will keep subsiding it

ps I like the new forum , keep it going folks

    cheers

    Ricky :)

Bring back Jackane , this topic was just plain crass
Paul N has shown what talent hard work and much more hard graft can achieve , I admire him , he and his team / outfit are spot on .

The guy plays a staright bat all of the time , punters can rejoice in a trainer who means what he says (theres a rarity )

Ruby is not too bad either :cheesy:

hmmm not convinced its even remotely connected to economics , what about a load of corruption charges ….bent races (allegedly )…..and hey presto you get a new image , yep thats right , flat racing is as welcome as a toothache in terms of corporate investment because its image for the last 2 yrs is one of ongoing investigations into possible corruption

who wants to be associated with that ??

Yes Glen dont relent you are right on the money , its just another monmore or hall green , in fact when twilight meetings are on its not even as good as a bags greyhound meeting
The Industry and all its cronies who continue to strangle racing in the name of the sacred levy will eventually see the light when the mugs (sorryI mean betting shop punters) stop playing

what then for the great polytrack adventure??

Max , you have missed the point , Kempton is now exactly like a low grade greyhound meeting
Punter choice is certainly showing , nobody is attending !!!
cheers

True , we all have slagged off Kempton for debauching racing , true it is a bags fixture and it helps fund racing (heaven help us !!!) and true we dont have to attend it or watch it

Also true is that most people on this forum like racing and remember Kempton for what it was , a fun place with reasonable racing , with good craic on a wedensday summer evening

the shame is that its now just like Monmore ,or hall green , or Perry Barr , and if you have attended one of those meetings and felt the empty atmosphere ,and souless motonony of the fare , all for bookies profit , you would think Thank God this can never happen to racing
It just did

I am still giggling at Alans post about the traffic , I wish I was enjoying it at the time , as i was trying to get to walsall to play in a poker turnament and gave up !!!
on a semi serious note , racing now at wolverhampton and kempton are just bookie continuity fillers

Its a turn off for punter, but to be honest no one cares as the product is being delivered to the shops , bookies rub hands and racing authority babbles on about levy yield

Sadly the game is run for the bookies , we punters are incidental , and even more so the owners who pay to keep the show on the road , what a mess ,it will get worse before it gets better

Yes ,the real deal , he is only 6 , so lets keep the superlatives on ice until we see just how good he is next year

I agree with Gareth 180 is fair
thank God jumping always saves racing as the flat is so boring nowa days , will he be 4/1 for the gold cup on Monday ???
what a prospect

would like to echo AP ‘S sentiments ,for me it was the travelling that killed it , going 4/5 times a weeek in 2003and 2004 cost me roughly 1000 permonth for costs , i barely scraped a living so nowadays its laptop and in running , with the occasional visit on course

good luck to all if you are going racing regularily , with the roads and probihitive costs , you going to need it

Gilly ,I agree its nice for owners to see a slow horse get a run and have a fun day out , and why not!!

Its just im thinking so many people have left racing behind because of the low quality /dross being offered on a regular basis and thats not so good

Hey Clive good for you and all the best

    cheers
