Personally I find Nicholl’s a pleasant chap and about the only trainer who regularly suppllies us with unambiguous interviews that are worth listening to.
As a trainer his horses are well bought, well trained and well placed; his owners seem ‘straightforward’; and above all I find his methods easy to read, which is half the battle punting-wise. A credit to his profession and long may he prosper.
January 21, 2007 at 18:07 #36307Top quality trainer. End of.
This thread is an early candidate for the 2007 Highly Strange Thread of the Year award. Young Jackane was pilloried and ostracised for far less.

Wonder if whoever ending up picking upo the tab for Sean At The Ivy, Lord Lington, My Condor and Tinoveritas would say
Alan King is just as straightforward and forthcoming.

Exceptions that prove the rule perhaps? You can’t win ’em all
No wish to beatify the bloke but it strikes me as bizarre that he of all trainers should be chosen to be pilloried.
Alan King’s interviews are okay, agreed
January 21, 2007 at 19:19 #36310Without a doubt Drone, just having a bit of fun.
January 23, 2007 at 09:49 #36311His record speaks for itself and you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to think Paul Nicholls will dominate the jumps scene for many years to come as was the case with the genius that is Martin Pipe. I find that any comments that Paul makes in the media are probably some of the most honest in racing and any success he has will have come from years of hard work, I was also interested to read how he started as a trainer with 15 horses who weren’t world beaters and had to build from that. Every credit to the man.
January 25, 2007 at 09:08 #36312Here here and may the pie shops across the land be happy in the knowledge that Paul Nicholls is a nice man.
January 25, 2007 at 22:40 #36313Bring back Jackane , this topic was just plain crass
<br>Paul N has shown what talent hard work and much more hard graft can achieve , I admire him , he and his  team / outfit are spot on .
The guy plays a staright bat all of the time , punters can rejoice in a trainer who means what he says (theres a rarity )
Ruby is not too bad either :cheesy:
